I love this show! It and RWRB do have some similar vibes. The original language is Swedish, and I'd recommend watching it like that (i just think the acting is much stronger in their language). If you can't deal with subtitles, I get it. The actors here are doing their own English dub

Great that you are reacting to this, it's a really good show. I second the suggestion to watch it in Swedish with subtitles. Even though the dubbing is pretty high quality, the show feels so much more authentic in Swedish. I think you'll enjoy it more that way.

omg it's so strange watching this in english, it makes me so awkward for some reason 😭. i'm swedish so i obviously watched it in the original language, but if you don't mind subtitles, it really feels more genuine in swedish! and btw, when he said confirmation, it is just a direct translation of the word in swedish, idk if it's called something different in english or just not as common. it's basically the christian tradition when you ig confirm and restate your faith in god during a ceremony. you do this when you're 14 and it's like a second baptism. it's really common in sweden, even people who aren't actually religious do it because it's tradition from when sweden was lutheranian for so long before the secularization. we have so many christian traditions because of it.

The actor of Simon is a famous popstar in Sweden and this is his first actingjob. He didn’t have as much work as an artist during the pandemic and wanted to try acting, which he does great. The actor of Wilhelm is a wellknown actor who has been acting since he was 5 years old. He is my favorite actor. 👑⚜️💙.

Also, wanted to join some others people opinions about how original language (Swedish) sounds waaaayyy better than dubbing just because it’s the real emotions delivered right in sync with the acting itself, it feels stronger and more deep? The actor who plays August really does a good job lol because in real life he’s the sweetest guy EVER😭 his name’s Malte Gårdinger, fr he’s such a nice guy and a very good actor. Its up to you, but I find watching it in Swedish is much more enjoyable~ 😊 But fun fact, the English dubs are also voiced by the same actors for Wilhelm and Simon, so they are very good

7:08 Possibly because Simon is openly gay. Nils is closeted, so it would make sense for him to denounce any affiliation ("as if we'd have anything in common"). But it could simply be because Simon is non-res, or non-boarder and doesn't live at the school like the other rich kids.

love this show - you'll definitely get a lot more out of it if you watch in swedish with english subs. the emotion isnt conveyed nearly as well in the dubbing.. it just sounds kind of fake. you miss the nuance of the swedish language.
