Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)　
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.

Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)　　　
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

0:55 Gentaro is getting so 🦍 humongous. 1:15 Momotaro much prefers the winter season. 2:00 Our little gardener Kintaro has pulled up many 🌱 plants and saplings 🤭. 2:55 😮 The size comp of father and son. I think Gentaro will be bulkier in size than his dad Momotaro. When their backs are turned, I have to really focus to see whose who. Both are silvery beautiful 😍.

I wish Momotaro would play with Gentaro like Shabani plays with Kyomasa. That would great to see and Gentaro craves the attention!!! Kintaro would get along with Kayembe (2 1/2 years old Cleveland Zoo USA) I would love to watch those two play!!

Que bello esta Gentaro un ancho de caderas y de espalda envidiable a la más bella mujer alguien comentaba si Momotaro fuera tan amable como Sabanis que felicidad ver a Sabanis como juega con Kiyosama jamás ño he visto ni se le acerca con amor pero el se crío sin padre quizás tenga esa conducta por eso o tal vez como Gentaro no es u alfa dominante como Kiyosama que es fuerte intenta pero Sabanis es muy fuerte y bello no se deja impresionar Gentaro es un niño en rl cuerpo de un adulto solo le interesa comer y correr con Kintaro es muy bello por eso Gentaro no es ninguna amenaza para Momotaro

成長速度は個体それぞれですが、ゲンタロウを見ているとモモタロウの成長速度の速さを改めて感じています。生まれ持ったものもあるかと思いますが、育つ環境がかなり影響されるのでしょうね。 モモタロウは6歳で既に母親モモコとの分離トレーニングを受けていましたから…😢 ゲンタロウは内面の成熟についてはこれからだと思うので、1ファンとしての勝手な願いですが、早くこの群れから卒業できるような環境が整うといいなと思っています😊

Gentaro is a Blackback not Silverback, Kentaro I don't think is old enough to even be a blackback. I see their enclosure has been enriched with greenery. It doesn't seem like they get anything more than that darn grass they always get to eat. They sure are not fed like Shabani family, and it is so annoying!!

Dein Kommentar ist ohne Worte und ohne jeden Respekt! Auch wenn du Gentaro nicht magst, gibt es dir nicht das Recht, so gehässig über ihn zu reden! Gentaro ist etwas ganz besonderes und er hat schon viel in seinem jungen Leben kennengelernt und mitgemacht. Als Baby wär er fast gestorben, wenn die Pfleger und Ärzte ihn nicht über 10 Monate versorgt und großgezogen hätten. Dann kam er zur Mutter zurück und später kam sein Dad Momotaro hinzu. 7 Jahre hatte er seine Eltern für sich, sein Dad spielte auch mal mit ihm, aber dennoch war er die meiste Zeit alleine für sich. Traurig. Dann wurde sein Bruder geboren, der Mama Genkis ganze Liebe und Aufmerksamkeit bekam. Meinst du, das macht ihn zu einem "schlechteren" Gorilla als seinen Vater? Jeder hat sein Päckchen im Leben zu tragen, ob Mensch oder Tier. Und schau genau hin, was aus Gentaro geworden ist: ein super Bruder für Kintaro, den er sehr liebt. Er ist auf dem Weg zum starken Silberrücken, der sein bisher erlerntes später als Dad und Partner in seiner eigenen Familie anwenden kann. Das ist normal, daß Gorilla Jungs in ihrer Pupertät ihre Grenzen austesten, auch bei seiner Mama. Kintaro macht das auch und das schon früher, als Gentaro das gemacht hatte. Du mußt Gentaro nicht lieben (denn er hat genug Menschen, die es tun) aber auch nicht so schlecht von ihm reden. Hab bitte mehr Respekt. Danke.

Sad thing to say! They’ve raised two incredible children under difficult circumstances and backgrounds ( and with help from their wonderful zoo keepers). They have done their best and have much to be proud of. I often count on this family (all 4) to lift my spirits when needed!

I agree. It is delightful to watch the interactions of Shabani with his offspring! Just recently videos popped up in my feed of when Annie had just been integrated into the troop. It was Shabani who was a doting father - playing with her, shadowing her so that her older brother did not hurt her, or just sitting nearby. (I think he sets a fine example that many human fathers could learn from). He was very fortunate to grow up in a stable troop, with his mother, Mouila, and the outstanding silverback Kibabu. No doubt he learned many things from watching & interacting with his dad and playing with older siblings. Just the opposite is true for Momo. As you may know, his father died before his birth, and he grew up only with his mother. He was separated from mom at age 6 when she had a breeding recommendation. Even when the pair was moved to Ueno when he was 8 yrs, he was separated from her yet again for her pairing with Haoko. He lived alone until his movement to Kyoto to live with Genki. I believe he has done well given the lack of his upbringing. I disagree with your assessment of Genki.
