The judge overseeing Young Thug’s RICO trial sentenced a potential juror to three days in jail for recording court proceedings on her phone during jury selection. Judge Ural Glanville dismissed the woman as a potential juror before she was taken into custody, where she was later released after five hours, rather than serving the full three-day sentence.

Judge called her on that too. Literally asking "so you're saying people were talking while I was giving instructions?" This isn't a party where a million things are happening at once. I was on jury duty one time when the judge broke for lunch and told us to return at 1:30. Returning jurors had to wait until the bailiff came and called roll; he wouldn't bring us in until we were all there. One woman was 30 minutes late. We were brought back in, the judge came in and court was back in session. The judge cordially asked the woman what she'd done at lunch and when she said she'd bought a pair of shoes he asked (again very friendly) how they'd cost. She said $100. His Honor told her no, they cost $200 and he fined her $100 Contempt of Court. Good for him.

Can only imagine how useless they would be without the technology.. universities don't care its just buisness for them... eventually the generation that built everything we have will be gone and no one will know how the technology we built actually works and won't be able to replace it when something goes wrong

She wanted to pay the fine instead of going to jail. The judge initially said that she could spend 20 days in jail OR pay a fine of $1,000.00. It seems that he took the initial punishment off the table ($1,000.00 fine) bc he may have felt that she actually needed to serve jail time, after all. Though he did lessen the jail time, after listening to her, he may have decided that he needed to send a message and teach her a lesson (and others).
