The entire nation needs to see how out of control this judge is. The judge keeps interrupting the lawyer getting the law onto the record. The judge never should have had that meeting; *never* should have happened. Then, the accusation of eavesdropping!!! This judge is acting as if he does not know the law. This is solid grounds for an appeal. This was utterly unethical. This would be a real issue for any lawyer and any ethical judge. It looks like collusion between the prosecution and the judge. Notice, while the prosecution is speaking the judge doesn't interrupt. The prosecution is allowed to put their statements on the record but the defense is not allowed. Wow. This is unbelievable. Steel stood his ground. I wish I was able to afford a lawyer like that, should I ever need one!

The judge should have recessed, had the transcript and the recording of the private meeting hand delivered to all defendants attorneys. If Mr. Steel’s client received the information about the secret meeting and told his attorney then it is Mr. Steele’s JOB to maintain the attorney client privilege. @kimberlybates27 According to Mr. Steele's attorney, Ms. Merchant it could be, however, would definitely be an appeals issue if Mr. Steele is unable to properly defend his client. Most attorneys work on weekends during trials and need access to the files, etc. If Mr. Steele is in jail on weekends he would be unable to properly prepare for testimony during the week.

As a person who was a court clerk many years ago, I stopped trusting judges, police and many within the court system because they are so wrong. This judge needs to have his attorney card removed. He's upset because someone has exposed his wrong. 😢

Was a criminal defense attorney for 25 years. Never, and I mean never, have I heard of an judge removing a defendant's attorney from a trial and then forcing the defendant to go forward with the trial. This judge is insane

How does that work when they ask for mistrial against something the judge is involved in? The judge just gets to say denied and that's the end?

@@tiffanyhorne346 There is the possibility that the defense could ask for an emergency interlocatory appeal but that is very, very, rarely granted. Mostly, the defense just has to note the objection and then raise it on appeal when the trial is over

No, Often times a child, or victim will be talked to in private in the judges chambers. Additionally, sometimes a judge will reprimand an attorney in chambers. Not saying this case is justified or correct. Just in general.
