So, the judge, the prosecutor, and a witness have a meeting without the defense being present, and the judge refuses to release the record of the meeting. Apparently, it is the court's opinion that whatever was discussed is none of the defense's business. And when the defense attorney raises the issue, the judge jails him for not announcing who told him about the meeting. Why that is relevant, the judge never says. I mean, talk about a power trip. Ashley Merchant is an absolute legend. She shows every attorney how to handle themselves in situations when those in positions of authority do something wrong…full of knowledge, not cocky but direct, with an even keeled power behind her words. It is abundantly clear that Integrity matters to her and every time I have had the opportunity to watch her in action, I am amazed by how she handles herself and the situation at hand, with tact and class on behalf of others to ensure the laws of the land are followed. It’s a beautiful site to see at this particular time. We need more attorneys just like Ashley Merchant out there. I was not a bit surprised that she is on the SF for other attorneys. She is all about doing the right thing all the time and at all costs, which seems to fairly uncommon in the last couple years. Those that mistakenly take her kindness for weakness SHE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL JUSTICE IS SERVED!
