I love, love, love this video! This is exactly how I make my units. I have been making my own units since 2015. Took a break and was switching between wearing what I had and buying synthetic. I want a new fresh unit, so, over the past two months I have been struggling with taking the lazy route out and purchasing one or making my own. I have been stalking sooooo many different companies to see which one to try. However, industry wigs are so thin, so I decided to purchase my own hair and do what I do lolol. I was looking on KZbin to find a video for a refresher tutorial and found this one!!!! This video is soooo straightforward and detailed and reminded me of how easy creating my units are!!!!! Thank you!

Many youtubers are saying you can sew through the elastic band as of late. I think you all should stick with the method shown in this video. I actually went though the elastic band when I made my last wig and it did not stretch as good. I like trying out new methods, but sometimes old is gold!

I really love this video! But I do have a question, when you first start sewing on the track, you say you don’t like to sew through the elastic band. I am assuming that is the darker black part around the dome cap. Around 15:00 mark. It does look like you’re sewing through it. Are you just sewing through the top layer, but not the entire band? Is that what you mean?

Question, I didn't see you take measurements, is it not necessary when using a closure? I saw other videos using a frontal and how to pass on to the dome head your head measurement. I have made 1 wig, I'm a newbie and looking to make my 2nd wig. I like to use single wefts, I bought the hair and separated the wefts. For me, it's a lighter more natural looking wig. I use a Gillette to separate the wefts.
