@@kimtraaan A very good comment, I think. She's a great teacher - and is never condescending. My sister and I are both teachers at university - different subjects and unis, but she is ALWAYS in what I call 'teacher mode'.. She's always condescending to everyone, including myself, and treats people like they're idiots .. like she knows more about EVERY subject than anyone else. So OF COURSE she is not popular.. NOT with anyone, much less with her students. I've tried talking to her about it - but she always knows better. This lovely lady's delivery is just so down-to-earth, and she is very likeable for it ❤️

I've gotten in the habit of curing my thumbs separately. I'll pull my lamp to the edge of my desk and stick my thumb flat on the desk under the light with my fingers under the desk (if that makes sense). I just don't feel like it's curing well enough if I don't do it like that lol. Also, I paint a glitter polish on top of the brush handle of my topcoat that I only use over glitter. That way I never forget which one it is

Out of curiosity, if a client has had the 4 fingers cured, why not have them slide their hand in top-side-down so the thumb is facing upright in their palm! Buckling the thumb seems more awkward than just flipping the hand over. Loving these videos, btw!
@mjaydelacruz84963 жыл бұрын
Honestly whatever works as long as they’re curing properly. Meaning the light is able to reflect on every direction of the fingernail.
@bekahmastrolia34962 жыл бұрын
The reason you would not do this is because the gel is sticky after curing. If their nails hit the table or the inside of the lamp, it scuffs the sticky layer and there is a possibility of getting hair or fuzz on them. Second point, hand lamps are not large enough to have the hand in that position. The client would most likely scrape the polish off or most likely not get the thumb in all the way and have a bad cure. Hope that helps

This has been the best video I've seen for tips/tricks and troubleshooting. I've been doing gel on my own nails for years and everything always looks great - I never have peeling and rarely chipping, but always get the micro cracks or hairline fractures after about a week, which drive me crazy. I've seen many people say it's because the layers are not going on thin enough (but your layers don't seem thin at all). I use DND base/top coats and OPI gel polish. Any thoughts or suggestions? Is it the polish I'm using?
@youngnailsinc2 жыл бұрын
Are you asking about just gel polish or are you getting cracks in your sculpted hard gels? If it's just the gel polish, most of the time people get cracks from either using a hard gel top coat instead of a soft gel or if the natural nails are very flexible and the polish isn't durable enough to withstand the flexing. Unfortunately since we don't use the products you are using, we can't say for sure if these would be the challenge you're having but another thing to keep in mind is that there may be an issue with using one brand of base/top coat with another brand of color. There may be something not bonding well.

Since you can't use Stain Resistant over a gel service, what do you recommend using for clients who are hairdressers? Is Gloss stain resistant? Thanks for yet another great video! Trying to perfect my polish application and this helps a lot.

Great video, thank you! I keep all of my nail polish (gel polishes too) in my refrigerator, that way it doesn't run at all- if that is helpful.

Would you please talk about gel types? and what top coats and base coats that go without each one ?
Could the nails be chipping because its not fully cured sometimes my gel polish is sticky and im not sure if it because my uv light is old
@mjaydelacruz84963 жыл бұрын
If your UV light is old and you’ve used it for a while that will definitely play a part in your gel not curing right. Are usually pills off. Mouse shells to cure with the sticky residue after curing the recommended amount of time. You would wipe it off with the lint free wipe and with ManiQ Cleanser. 💅🏻🤍✨
