Its cold out this time of year, so the rubber boots get stiff and tear, tip is to warm it up with a hair dryer or in the oven or maybe a bucket of hot water first. Then it will stretch much more easily.

Those CV joints will come off even tho the book says it won't. If you clean the grease out and bend the joint down there is a clip you can spread with split ring pliers. Spread the clip and tap with a hammer. It will slide right off. I just watched a video installing rear diff. He ordered a kit. Yeah it makes it easier. But nothing to it. It was round bar. Flat stock to weld in and make gusots. You can do it. And merry Christmas

Those outer joints do come off, and rather easily. The shaft is just held in with a circlip. Put the shaft in a vise and smack the joint off the shaft with a hammer.

for the rear diff, you can use a D series lsd. I,m sure you have a few of those floating around in your back yard.

None. No other rta fits as far as I know. To get rt to be disc you need the conversion kit.
