My girlfriend introduced me this band and the first song I've ever listened was Los Angeles. She had an anxiety attack and suicidal thought after her ex beat her hard and left her back before I met her. I took care of her and her feelings and in return she provide emotional support through my hard time. This song she sent change me so much. She said it would heal me from anxiety and stress and all that bad thoughts. So it did, as I went through shit all past years (pandemic, lost of job, depression etc.) I just felt like The Midnight is the only band that lift spirit and my life and make me feel nostalgia to the "place" I never ever visit.

I love and hate listening to the midnight. They’re amazing and so talented. But when I listen, I go back to a time when I was a kid with no worries. When my mom was always there for me to hold me when I was sad and scared. When there was no internet, just outside exploration and learning about the world through a child’s eyes. Everything was so magical then. So freeing and beautiful. I hope one day to find another era that makes me just as happy and nostalgic when it’s even further in the future, that way I can die and know I lived a beautiful happy life.

I was born in 80 and I do miss the 80s and 90s in many ways. One of the main ways is how you could be a kid then. The world wasn’t like it is now.. we broke it. We had to keep inventing things to make everything “better”.. and now our kids can’t even be kids.

I'm usually really modest about what I listen to in the car, but when I am driving down Sunset Blvd on a Saturday night, this is usually one of the sounds I roll down my window and sing along to. I got to meet Tyler in 2018 backstage at a show in Brooklyn, and told him how much this song made me feel home.

When this movie came out I couldn't see it in the cinema, but then, being a fan of The Midnigth, I found this video, which accompanied by this song with beautiful melody and lyrics, made me imagine that the film would have a development and ending as beautiful as the signaling that this song produces when listening to it. I watched this video over and over and imagined a beautiful movie. Then I had the opportunity to see it, and yes, I loved it, but I was disappointed and sad because it is not as I imagined, it did not feel like when I heard the song. I still prefer and like the version that I imagine more and I still feel when I watch this video. it's something like love, nostalgically mixed, beautiful

The song's feeling of melancholy does suit the ending of the film though, when both Mia and Sebastian end up with everything they wanted... except each other. A lot of people got salty about that, but it's true to life. Sometimes things just don't work out the way you hoped they would.
