This lesson and your other country lessons are really helping me as I find myself now playing some classic country and light rock on electric guitar when I am not being the banjo player on our bluegrass songs! I am also learning from your harmonica lessons!

Would just love to see another one of these priceless Country lesson done by Dr groovy, Scott Grove. I have come a long way through his teaching because he is someone you understand. Country music is good when played with the touch that comes from the heart of the player. THere is a difference in a taught process and feeling it from within. You play with the feel from within.

Scott I just want to say i have visited a lot of on line sites & in my personal opinion yours is by far the best i have found. i have played rhythm guitar in a small local band for a few years. After i quit that band i started driving a tractor trailer over the road as a long haul driver running coast to coast. I laid my guitar down now i am retired and its been 32 years since i laid it down now i have started to play some once again but this time i wont to play some lead & with what your help i believe i can actually make it happen!!!!! THANKS SCOTT

My first video that I've seen you in that you did was when I was trying to learn how to play and sing at the same time and you sat down on your stool and said fuuuck! Really loud it took a half hour of wasting our time to say "just do it"! From then on I took so much from you that you've given and I appreciate that. I know the value of what you have given away is phenomenal I think you're an example of how people should be that they need to start paying attention to the stuff you do for people thanks Scott!

I always enjoy your good old country lessons. It takes us back to the time when country was country music. Thanks
@groovydjs7 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. Yeah, it's always fun to go back to these things that HAVE to be in your bag of tricks in order to start making the solos that will eventually evolve....make sense. I'm looking forward to a lot more of these.
@williamcastleberry73387 жыл бұрын
I'll be watching for them. Keep up the great lessons. I bought the hard drive with all your lessons two or three years ago. But I still enjoy watching lessons like these
@groovydjs7 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. Yeah, even these little things can shake a brain cell or two loose.....It's nice to revisit the basic stuff that eventually grew into being able to put a solo together and to remember that a lot of the time......these things WERE the solo in some of the oldies. lol Non musicians in the crowd or just in ear's shot of what you're playing when jammin' with others......they will appreciate the simplicity of THIS and they won't know why, but it might be something inside the listener that instinctively draws them towards those licks because they sound fundamental and like it simplifies the sound of the song.....almost like THEY could have played it with an hour's practice without ever touching a guitar before.

Hey, Dr. Groovy, been missing your lesson on the “ Tube “. I tried many years ago to learn guitar, but “ things “ got in the way, at that time I stumbled upon your lessons and enjoyed them immensely! Now, retired and at age 72 am trying to get back to the guitar, the only problem is I can’t seem to find anything on here that compares to what you you were offering! I enjoy this tutorial and would for you to submit more country music videos, from beginning and beyond! Thank you much for your time and concern!

Love that strat! And I agree with Ed Dana; I'll watch pretty much anything you put out, but these are the ones I love, even though most of this I am already well acquainted with. I learn a ton just looking at how different musicians approach the same things. Helps to see them in a new way. That's always good. Stop learning and you are dead musically, IMO.

Fantastic stuff to learn. Did watch some of your videos but did not really start learning. I am old, having grabbed the guitar at age 75 and do not know if I can do it by listening and watching. Never studied reading notes but I started mainly with the brochure supplyed with the guitar and other written info, can also read tablatures. Now I started for the first time digging deep and working through the first bunch of E A B7 chords, trying to absorb first as you proposed. Now I look forward to make some progress.

My father used to say cattywampus. If you estrogen pumpers out there don't think Scott is a good dude your not wired correctly. This lesson is free, and has to be kinda boring for him to do. He does it because he likes helping people learn this awesome, at times maddening, instrument. It seems some people are the opposite. They enjoy tearing people down. I can count on one hand the number of times I've down voted something let alone commented negatively. If I do comment negatively it's because some little fuck that wouldn't dare speak up in person just has to put someone down. Unfortunately, the guitar community has a lot of these insolent little circle jerkers. Nine times out of ten you check them out and they're into heavy metal. I'm not putting down heavy metal. I like hard rock, and older metal. It's just an observation. I'm too far along for this lesson, but thanks Scott for some of your other country lessons. I want to learn everything I can, and this old country music reminds me of my parents. Plus it's just cool. Thanks again Scott.

Hi D-Groove, I subscribed a while ago and have been lurking in the shadows. I have learned a shit-ton from your videos and still have plenty of them to watch. My playing still sucks but it sucks less because of you. Most importantly I know more now and enjoy playing much more than I ever have. One question. Can you do a video demonstrating how to rewire humbuckers for coil splitting? I searched your channel but couldn't find anything on it. I don't want to write a book here so I will just say THANK YOU!
