This did NOT work for me - in fact it did the opposite for my Macbook Pro M2 with all my data. I am now fully locked out and unable to use my computer at all. 1 of my users was locked and now nothing is working. "Failed to create activation request."

I was asked to change my iMac password . When I went to use the new password , it was told the password was not correct. After a few more attempts, I was told the computer was locked and I had to wait one hour. I checked with Apple Help and their instructions did not work. I found Laiju RK Video and following his instruction I easily reset my iMac. This video is excellent, easy to follow, and saved the day for me. I highly recommend this video to any Mac owners.

I just followed these instructions and it RUINED my macbook, I am locked out and unable to log back in. Stuck on Recovery Assistant saying "Failed to create activation request." There is now option to fill in Apple ID & password and I was already logged in with my Apple ID. If anyone knows something that may help let me know. Please don't follow these instructions as they have put all of my data at risk and may be lost except for what I had stored on the cloud.

I think that is because of low wifi signal. Get closer to your router or go to a better location with stronger wifi. I wouldn't go to a business, Id use a friend's wifi if possible.
