I find it really hard to detach from marriage. Like it is an innate physical and spiritual need Allah created us with. Even Adam pbuh when he was in Jannah he felt lonely and asked Allah for a companion and He created Hawa for him. So I truly believe we were created with this need. I understand what you are saying and the concept of detachment but for marriage I feel like it is just not possible.

Detachment doesn't mean you shouldn't want it, it means figuring out how to feel fulfilled when Allah hasn't given it to you yet (which is the test). Working with what you currently have rather than feeling empty for not having it. Allah is always 100% filling your needs at all times, having wants is different than a need.

@@draylouis It may be that you don't like something but that it reveals itself to be in your favour in the long-run or that you like something but it reveals itself not to be good for you after all. From our limited human perspectives, we don't always understand God's plan from the get go but we do know that everything He plans is entirely purposeful and intentional. Knowing that God is the Most Compassionate, tells us that whatever is written for us is better than anything that we could have planned ourselves. Trusting in this is what allows us to submit to God's will, to see the beauty in it and to make peace with it. Oftentimes we don't even know ourselves very well. God knows us fully and knows exactly what will bring joy to our hearts, even in ways that we could have never expected. The key is to have high expectations for Him without setting in stone the particular outcomes we want to happen. That's the fun and adventure of the journey! Hope that helps.
