I mean, yeah but no. If you cannot adapt in the heat of the moment and change your game plan so that you are not negatively effecting the team then there is no purpose for you on the court. Helping people doesnt work if you cant help yourself. I appreciate the point she tries to make, but she doesnt understand what point it is that she is trying to make. Thats the whole problem in general though. Players dont make good coaches, at least not the best players. Thats why we have coaches, people who guide us through the game and our training, and tell us what we need to work on. If you are worrying about shit when its time to step on the court, its too late. You should not have to think about how you can work with your team to beat the odds, that is called a lack of synergy, You should all already know what you need to be doing, and you should already be doing it. There is no fix in mentality or game strategy right before you step on. If you were not ready last week. it is already too late. I coached and analyzed vb for two years after graduating highschool, and only stopped because my interest in veterinary medicine outweighed my passion for volleyball. I could have had a job literally right after i graduated if i wanted it, but i chose the college route instead. What i learned as a coach, is how obviously flawed an athletes logic and understanding can be from an objective angle, yet how unseeable it can be from their own side. She is a great player no doubt, one of the best college liberos in the entire country. But that is why she is not a coach, and is instead a player. She understands the game in action, not in concept, band further more only understand the game from her specific perspective. Change the player to a wing spiker, and their whole definition of what makes a good athlete changes completely.
