Same thing in Greece. Drivers will just pass me to stop in front of me to turn right when they could have waited or reach a red light which is dumb on each own.

Come to Wellington NZ, we have friendly road cyclists! Drivers are still grumpy that they're stuck in traffic and voice their envy with relative animation lol. Also, Singapore is beautiful, sometimes we can't see the forest from the trees.

John, I have been cycling for 3 years and the situation is no different in NZ apart from the fact we have a smaller population. Cycling like everything else has been marketed to be elitist and at the end of the day i don't care what i am riding, i'm getting exercise, trying to stay healthy and seeing new and different things by riding. Traffic lights are a problem, i ride early in the moring on the weekend and do go through red lights because there are few cars on the road and cycles here don't trigger light changes. Lastly, car drivers are same here, because cyclists don't pay road tax we are hated, however most cyclists also own cars and pay the tax? The real issue has been electric scooters, cyclists must ride on the road or bike path, have a helmet and lights. No such rules for electric scooters, can go on road or footpath, no helmet required and they can go faster than a bike on the flat - you work that one out.
