Kendall Haven is THE most important contributor to the science of storytelling. This video shows why.

Glad I found this, I'm writing my thesis about how the storytelling changed via the evolution of mediums, and how can new platforms like video games can potentially lead new generations to a more progressive and more prudent thinking, which can eventualyl affect the social life as we know it. This will be a lots of help thanks! :)

Story Theory is reminding me a lot about the control of dialogue in 1984. Even more reason to be skeptical of every bit of rhetoric I hear.

Admittedly, I have yet to read 1984, but if I understand your meaning, I think it's already been happening. There is a documentary on Netflix about a particular company having scary powerful influence on voters through social media. Ever notice Facebook asking you to tell them whether or not you are registered to vote? It's not just to "tell your friends." They use the art of storytelling to essentially create your reality. Scary...

Tim P Twitter Snapchat Facebook KZbin and Instagram will decide our elections in the future, especially after the boomers die off in mass, which will be around 2040. The government will realize before then, and the politicians will give themselves that power. It seems inevitable. The US had a great run. Idk where to move to. Hopefully China if they overthrow the communist party.

It's a bit ironic how a story convinced you to be skeptical of stories.

I would love to see a presentation on the neuroscience of bad fonts.

I believe a storyteller might use comic sans.

Story is style. Lit studies people have been saying this for years. ;)

Amazing lecture and bold discoveries. However the last 10 minutes or so are horrendously explained. Convoluted examples where a Genetics company is now being compared to the parts of a car. Ugh. Terrible. Just use examples of classic lit

I found the ARAMCO example clearly explained but as you said the second one was confusing. I would say the last 2 minutes and not the last 10 :)

for a "master story-teller", he sure stutters a lot.
