I think that the players who left Europe for China, the US, or the Middle East are mostly justified in their decisions. They have precarious careers which last half as long as an average person's, careers which could be ended by one bad fall. A lot of them also came from poverty, and they have a great chance to guarantee their financial future.
@daily_ditto3 жыл бұрын
I agree tbh. Like why be a mediocre player for an average top flight team when you can be a star and icon in a foreign country that are gonna potentially quadruple your wages? More people in the US know who Vela is then someone like Lewandowski. The only departure that was a bit iffy was Oscar since he was already a top player for Chelsea earning bags of money but again they tripled his wages

I don’t think he’s wasting his career, he just doesn’t have the confidence or passion to play for a top team anymore, despite the talent being there.

To be honest if I was a mid-table premier league player at best pushing 30 and a club in a lesser league offered to double my wages then I would absolutely chase the money.
