I Just bought a flight to Reno/ Tahoe from Chicago & my ticket says... "Emissions per seat type" 251 kg CO2. 😱 The flight home is 248 kg.🤭 Also I notice higher price tickets "use more" carbon🤔🤭 Guess I can't drive or eat for a week once I land huh?

Looking at the annual CO2 footprint per capita (wiki), USA is averaged at 15.5 tons per year, Germany at 8.5 tons per year and Qatar at 39 tons per year, while Mexicans emit around 4 tons per year and Indians around 2 tons per year. So, with all the efforts to 'decarbonize' the West, 40kg per day still seems to be generous for now and is only the beginning. Personal transport and travelling will be severely curbed in the future with the masses living happily in 15 minute cities.

Diamond, Is that 40kg or 4kg limit" If one packet of cheese is equal to 25% of your daily allowance a t1.1kg would be 4.4kg, and Check out zero consulting article: 'How many kg of CO2 do you generate in your day-to-day? Transport, food, and energy' for more absurdity. A 10min shower would cost you 2.7Kg of COs, with a 6oz of chicken one tomato and a 1/2 pound of beans putting you over 4kg before you cook it.

If it ever really was about the climate absolutely none of the things on their preferred to do list such as EVs solar and wind would have been bothered with because instead of reducing emissions they have actually increased them by an amount that far exceeds any possible reductions they could ever achieve. If you were to ask one of these fools the following question. Which has the lowest carbon emissions, buying a brand new EV (of family friendly mid size) , Or keeping an existing vehicle going for the life of the EV (and even longer by fitting a newer cleaner motor)? They would answer buy a new EV. The correct answer is keeping the existing vehicle going. A new EV in the currently available technology will expire and need total replacement in about ten to fifteen years of average usage ( longer in warmer climates with good usage and much shorter in colder climates) . Baring rust an average ICE vehicle can last for a hundred years or more with proper maintenance and repair of worn out parts. The average family ICE vehicle will take fifteen years or more to emit equivalent carbon emissions to the EV that would replace it. So buying an ev means net zero benefits emissions reductions in total . Until they catch fire then the emissions from the EV in real pollution vastly exceeds the ice vehicles.
