What kind of test makes you radioactive you ask? Radio isotope imaging that's what. Some cells, such as cancer cells, demand nutrients from the body, if you provide those nutrients, but one of them is radioactive, the cells which are demanding more will receive those radioactive nutrients and concentrate them within. This is a double whammy, the cancer gets severe radiation damage instead of normal cells, but additionally those radioactive particles are easier to see with a scan, so for certain cancers, like skin cancer, you both treat the cancer with radiation, while also seeing where the cancer has spread so they can surgically remove the more stubborn tumors
@fxbear10 ай бұрын
I’ve had bone cancer and later lymphoma. They used those same tests on me to locate the tumors. Really cool to see on a live screen as, in my case, my elbow lit up like a fireworks show (on the screen). I never got a cool detector but I did have to isolate for awhile.
@kolbayada493810 ай бұрын
It's also a really good diagnostic method when it comes to info. Since you can straight up look at processes in the cells, you basically can diagnose the illness way before it even starts showing symptoms.
@DavidStruveDesigns6 ай бұрын
Yeah we call them PET scans in the UK. I'm about to have one tomorrow. For the most part it's glucose they use along with the radioactive isotope, since cancer cells use up glucose at a far higher rate than normal healthy cells so they absorb the most amount of the isotope along with it. I don't have to completely isolate from everyone else though because the radiation isn't that high - I just have to stay away from young kids and pregnant women for 24 hours because the risk to them isn't 0%

Ice is a poor conductor of electricity not because it is more dense then water (it is not, it is less dense, one of the few solids less dense then it’s liquid form) but because it is a solid and the ions are not mobile. The wires under the ocean were originally for telegraph, now they’re used for internet and phone. It is how long distances are communicated.

My indoor/outdoor cat would laugh if you called him a community cat lol. He loathes all people except me, the gf and this little old lady at the end of the road. That said, I do have an indoor only cat, and I did get my trash cat (indoor/outdoor) with the intentions of keeping him inside. But he was feral for 3 yrs and have no intentions of giving up that life. That boy was found half frozen in the trash at 3 months old, and then just kept in a heated shelter with food until I got him. He will stare down cars, pick fights with foxes, break into people's houses and beat up their dogs. and in general be a real fucking menace. But I love him, and my neighbors like him too. But yeah I do ofc offer them preventative measures to keep him out, like cat sprays and the like, they have all declined. I know he will probably live shorter than a purely indoor cat, but the way he got depressed when kept inside was killing us both. Stopped eating, stopped moving, just laid in the window all day with his nose pressed against the glass. He is turning 9yrs this year tho, so hopefully I get another few years with the bastard.

Nope. I work in healthcare, and from what I've seen personally, bowels etc. have to be removed as they would otherwise obstruct the uterus etc. -- Although of course it varies on a case by case basis, there is often bowel removal which runs a high risk of bowl perforation in some cases etc. So it is a high risk/high reward procedure. C-sections have high risks, which is why you do them primarily as a life saving measure for the parent/infant.
