What helped me get past that is realizing that no one knows you like you know yourself and they never will. So being afraid of their opinions won’t make any sense once you see that. Ppl are just forming opinions of you from their own bias and they fill in things that they project onto you. So it’s just about taking your power back since they never really had any over you. It’s more about acknowledging what we dislike/judge about ourselves finding a way to love/accept ourselves and then change whatever aspects we feel we want to

Awww Kayla 😊 This was exactly what I needed to hear and see! I remember during my psychology studies at University coming across Rorschach-test and our professor asked us what we see in the ink-blob he showed up. Well - there was a huge variety! Someone even saw a spider in it (a person who had a huge fear of spiders). As he asked me I blushed. After all my co-students saw rather not so pleasing things in the blobs, I hesitated saying what I saw. But then I decided to tell them: A butterfly! My professor smiled widely and said: Well, you have a rather innocent mind then, my dear! I was not sure, if that was a compliment at all 😉. But remembering this situation now is great! Your are so right, it is all about the person who looks at a painting or even a person. There is a quote I really love: "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." (Anaïs Nin ). I think to remind myself of this everyday, I will now do an ink-blob and put it somewhere I can see it easily! Thank you so much! I love your channel, for me it is refreshing to listen to you. You seem honest and grounded in life... at least that is what I want to see in you😉

Congratulations on your new studio. Perception is an individual interpretation. If someone goes out of their way to bash my art, I blame my art as the catalyst, although, I do not blame my art for the individuals need to do so. Arrogance plays a large part. These individuals first have this queer idea their opinion is in some way constructive and in need. And second, they're not angry at my art, or me personally, they're simply unhappy with themselves. It's difficult to beat yourself up, so they project their personal individual anger towards the world. When we say something, we're defining and depicting ourselves.

Thank you for sharing this deeply personal part of your lived experience as an artist. I’m a new subscriber and really appreciate and can relate. Well done! In a word that is so divided it is rather terrifying to be real. Glad you’re going for it!!

Impeccable timing 👌 👏 Im literally tidying my cluttered art desk to finally make a channel too. You've inspired me to make a channel in the first place. So thank you. And thanks for these messages as it is daunting and there is always doubt...the what ifs.... But ive got my notebook, planned it all out. So gonna get to it and see what happens. As a fellow art mummy, id LOVE to be able to provide for my kids by doing what i love and from the comfort of my own home!? Its seems like a fantasy but you always show us it can be our realities. So, thank you! 😊 ❤ And fingers crossed for my youtube journey 😊🎉
