Why didn't you just list the things that help artists sell their paintings instead of doing a whole video of your tragic life story...

Love your vlogs! And all things you share ❤ whar are those things called, you screwed on the back of the frame when canvas is in it? I tried to find ways, but not a handy husband and myself not either. So I love to thrift also, and repurpouse. Life saver those “things” 😂

I loved my art class in high school. But I could only take 1 art elective out of all 4 years so I couldn't keep going after one semester. I became a photographer but I still miss taking an art class.

That's an awesome story! It is funny now, though of course at the time it was happenning to you it definately wasn't funny at all. I made me smile because that could have so been me! I traveled home from Denver, CO to Las Vegas with several bullet casings from my dad's funeral. So I totally get it. Thank you for sharing. I will be taking your advise and start posting on youtube and instagram more personal stories to try to increase my personal value. Just a side note I never really thought that my story was interesting but listening to you I realize that maybe it is more than I thought. I will be trying your idea soon and let people into my art, motivations, ideas and the reasons I create.

I just started selling via my website. You have tapped onto several of the issues and questions I have with what I have. I intend to forward this video to the person who made my website and see what he can do to make mine better. Several points you made I have already been told by viewers so I have a feeling they see and feel what you see and feel. That adds validity to this video. Thank you. By the way, congratulations on the baby news. May the two of you (and your husband) stay healthy and have a blessed life together.

I don't know much about oils but how do you get yours to dry so fast in order to sell them?
@KaylaCarlileArtКүн бұрын
I usually put them on my website for sale while still wet, and put an estimated dry time and ship date in the description. For example: “Will be dry and ready to ship by the week of December 18th.” It has seemed to work for me! People seem to be willing to wait.

can I ask you some questions, get a recommendation for a total newbiew to selling online? I'm thinking of different products and so yes, Etsy be the best I guess but have read a lot of not so great things about it in the past year
@KaylaCarlileArtКүн бұрын
I still think Etsy is a great place to start selling if you don’t have your own audience or way to bring traffic to your own site- since there are already millions of people looking on Etsy everyday!
@markusstorzer4545Күн бұрын
@@KaylaCarlileArt thank you for replying!!! What do you think I should start with, I have so man ideas but don't want to get burned out creating too much. TBH bit overwhelmed here - do plan on a mix out of paintings/prints and clay made items. Also like you said don't want to overwhelm people that visit the shop. should I maybe start with something easy to remake to have in stock if there is a sudden demand?
@karenl6086Күн бұрын
Great video, totally agree with every point you made. One question, Squarespace recommends you reduce image sizes, to make sure they don’t slow down load times. Of course this will reduce the quality of the image. What image sizes do you most use on your site? Thanks 😊

Right so, you listen to Eminem when you get criticism, and than you stereotype people, ya know you just wasted 8 minutes of your life insulting someone, so now you spent 29 minutes insulting people instead of taking criticism, you do you I guess. (Sorry I stole all the commas)

Very helpful, thank you. I find I hesitate to put my work clearly on the internet because I am afraid of someone lifting it. What do you do to avoid this? I step down the quality, add watermarks, and it just comes out annoying to look at. I do the same with my instagram. I never post straight on shots, which makes my insta less appealing too.

Do you recommend Museum-Quality Matte Paper Poster or Premium Semi-Glossy Paper Poster for photography art prints?

Love the advice! Make it as easy as possible for people. Though as far as mockups go, I did just cancel my PlaceIt subscription a few months ago because it's been absolutely overrun with awful AI generated mockups that you can't easily filter out.

Lots of golden advice in this video. I've tried to explain #11 to so many other artists and photographers, it is really a hard concept for people to grasp. But is it 100% true and important. Thanks for sharing, Kayla.

Hi Kayla, thank you for being so honest and open! If possible, could you please make a video showing how much you roughly earn from your website sales monthly, on average? Specifically, it would be great to know about your income from originals, prints, and canvases. Also, how many paintings are you able to complete in a month? Wishing you more success!
