Keep in mind, this is not a comparison of which cartridge is "most effective in combat", but what's best for the new AK buyer.

Either 7.62x39 or 5.56. Easiest and most plentiful rounds!
@-Zevin-2 жыл бұрын
556 was actually my first AK (Zastava M90) and I don't regret it at all. .556 is the most commonly available ammo in the US, and the .556 is a great round, flat shooting over longer distances, it's a great SHTF rifle. 7.62 will probably be my second AK in traditional wood as more of a collectors piece / range toy.

Not a bad choice at all.

@@theAKGeek Also I'm curious what your situation with 5.45 ammo is? Where I live in Michigan my gun stores are absolutely loaded with it. Literal shelves full of 5.45 "red army standard" for a bit cheaper than .556 and 7.62x39 believe it or not. They have more 5.45 than than 5.56 or .223 for the last months. That really surprised me. I don't doubt it will dry up over time, but still a good time to stock up.

@@-Zevin- I havent seen it in any local shops near me. I'd still say for anyone that has one, they should stock up while it's still available

@@theAKGeek That's pretty wild, I wonder why there is so much near me. I'm tempted to buy some even though I don't own a 5.45 (yet)

Hornady makes brass 5.45x39mm American manufacturers are making ammo 59 Grain red army standard is top dog 5.45 ammo
@theAKGeek2 жыл бұрын
I have yet to see any American manufacturers besides Hornady making 5.45 (which is insanely expensive) Red Army Standard is typically imported from Russia and Ukraine (but mostly Russia) and is therefore subject to the import ban. As much as I love 5.45, it's availability is drying up.

@@theAKGeek PSA plans on making it. 5.45x39 is still available and cheaper than 5.56

@@praktikalnurse504 companies make plans and promises all the time. I'd love to see domestic 5.45 get made, but until I see it, I cant immediately recommend a new AK buyer go out and get a 74

2 things... #1: ... keep doing videos on this gun. Basically nobody is reviewing them testing them etc. Rob Ski from AKOU even ditched doing the full 5000 round because "it is basically WASR rifle, it will always run, even run after you die. No reason for waste ammo" In short... its boringly reliable. But PLEASE keyword RH10 because if you search RH10 only 2 of your videos show up. #2: the TWS rail... i dont know if you did a video review on it (please do if you havent) but i am looking at grabbing one. I have an RH10 and am done fucking with the side rail and not quite yet so far into the fuckit realm to where im trying to mount anything on top of the handguard. So tws rail seems like my bitch. BUT i like my iron sight shooting. So... the TWS peep sight? Is that what you have on there and is it workable or basically worthless? Maybe get some closeup on it for is? TWS rails are severily underreviewed. Everybody just goes into "does it hold zero" and we all know that answer now... but for fucks sake hows it feel having lived with it for a few thousand rounds? Any quirks we need to know? Is the iron sight useful? Recommendations, tips, tricks etc... The people need to know. And i need to know. Thank you... my name is Raz and inapprove this message.
