I can't get enough! My grandson 6 and I have the alphabet down, now he wants to learn to spell words so he can use his hands it's so great. I love this but feel it moves too fast for this old man. I need much more repetition to bury it better in my head. Thanks so much we're having so much fun! 🤟

@markadkins9290 If you have a panel that lets you control the speed of the video, then try to slow it down there. You can also click on the video transcript to follow along and replay the signs you miss. Best wishes.

@@gardeniagirl1374 thanks, although I'm 64 and very low tech. I barely can use my phone. Unfortunately my 6 children are far away or they could be a great help. I first started learning at 13 a friend her dad was deaf and learned to spell, then 25+ years later my youngest son and I took a class and day 2 they cancelled the class very disappointing. Now 28 years later I'm starting from scratch again but having the time of my life! It justs gets harder when you get so old

I wish I'd had this many years ago. Ive only met a few people who are deaf, but I have more interactions with those who are hard of hearing. I generally can understood by reading lips or gestures. During the pandemic, we wrote everything. Im finding this useful. Thank you for sharing!!!

I was looking to learn a new language. Thinking maybe Spanish...? And now I'm here. I find Sign language fascinating, I hope to learn at least the basics, might come handy some day. :)

I enjoy your videos and like to come back and reference specific signs. Are you going to add a timestamp list of the signs and phrases like you usually do?

I keep watching & practicing using your videos. I'm attending a local Deaf Cultural Halloween party tomorrow evening. I'm nervous, but it's a mix of deaf, hearing, HOH, and deaf-blind people. I wrote down some notes, so I hope people don't sign too fast, as I'm slow at comprehending finger spelling. 🙏

Hi. I have been watching this channel for almost an year and it is helpful to me. There is one problem i need you to notice. I have once checked out the lhts asl dictionary and i have seen some signs giving meanings of other words (for example change shows cabinet, cabinet shows blanket, blanket shows army and so on). Please check this once as it may confuse learners who refer to your dictionary. Thank you

How to sign "Mr." and "Mrs." when introducing something? Are they the same as signing 'man' and 'woman'?

I have a question, I am legally blind and have limited motor function in my left hand, is it ok if my left hand cant do the best at making the signs?
@gardeniagirl13742 ай бұрын
You can choose one hand and teach it to sign.

The rule of tapping someone on the shoulder especially when getting a deaf person's attention seems so unorthodox to me. Growing up, I respected people's personal space by following the "Personal Space" and "Hands to Yourself" motto.Tapping on the shoulder is one of the ways to get a deaf person's attention, yet I can't just tap a person's shoulder without having second-thoughts. On the bright side, waving and tapping on a table feels right to me when getting a deaf person's attention.

Hey Meredith, Love these videos! A possible idea for a future video: What not to sign. For example I know a lot of signs can be easily messed up and you can say something offensive without meaning to. Thanks again for these awesome videos.
