WOW! I asked Garrett for something like this a couple of months ago and boy did he come through! This is by far the best from beginning to end video for CNC beginners I've found. Great job Garrett I appreciate it.

WOW! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful project and for providing all of these amazing gifts, particularly because it is so personal. I have never seen a video so explicitly helpful from start to finish for beginners for this craft or any other craft! You are an amazing leader and teacher. I have saved this video and look forward to watching it several times. I am a newbie 50-something female CNCer and I am hooked! I look forward to binge watching your videos. Thanks again! Kindly and respectfully, Kim

I apologize if my comment came off wrong I don’t blame you for putting in a wood burner. I love the smell of wood burning. I grew up building fires in a stripping room for tobacco. Guess I got a little burn out on that. I appreciate all your videos you’ve taught me a lot. Keep up the good work and thanks.

Very good training video that has been scaled to those of us who have little or for me, no idea how the CNC world works. I have been using lasers for 3 years, but this is a whole new experience. I have ordered the AltMill and it is scheduled to arrive in March 2025. I will be ordering your IDC complete set of essential CNC router bits. Thank you so much for the training and the free files. I look forward to more wonderful and informative videos from you in the future.

Welcome to the world of CNC, Allen. I get absolutely no kickbacks for saying this but you have chosen wisely with your purchase of the Altmill and you will not find a better dealer for your router bits than IDC Woodcraft!

Which is the purpose of Oramask in this project ? As you already painted all the project surface why protect the letters ?
@IDCWoodcraft5 күн бұрын
That's a really good point! I was going to paint the carved areas, but because it was a beginners video, I didn't want to make the video any longer than it already is.

Great video! I’m using vcarve pro and getting 3 tool paths? The first one is pocket1(clear1) ? 3hrs 38min? Thanks!
@IDCWoodcraft2 күн бұрын
Hi Mark. That's because you're using multiple router bits in the toolpath. When you go into the toolpath, and the white box, there will be two bits. You need to delete one

I know its personal preference, but if my projects include cutting the part out, I almost always zero to the bed so that I am sure that I don't cut into my spoilboard.
@IDCWoodcraft5 күн бұрын
Hi Tristan. I would have suggested that, but this project is for those who are making their very first projects so I just wanted to keep it as simple as possible. But thank you for commenting about that here so they can read your comment and learn from it!

@IDCWoodcraft, you did an amazing job with the video. Nothing was left out, and it will help those who are new to the skill to build their confidence in this new venture. I wish I had something this detailed when I first started, instead of learning through the trial-by-fire method! :)
