It's been 10 years since I started snowboarding, but it's still the best KZbin channel for snowboarding education

Hey, there! I'm a first-year FIS snowboarding instructor and I'm using those series to see alternative approaches to teaching. Is there any particular reason why you skipped how to fall?

@7:40 I've been doing it wrong all this time. Must reasses which side of the board to skate push from. Front side from the skateboard days no? Tbf i was average on the skateboard and my snowboarding level is intermediate so i can test this. This winter I'm going to push from the other side. Definitely have to stretch more and be less stiff before my snowboard trip Good riding all

It feels more natural to push from the back normally! We have a series of 3 snowboard workout videos that might help get you fighting fit for the snow! head to our channel to check them out :)

This winter will be my second season snowboarding. I struggled last winter and I've been watching some videos to better understand body posture and feet position to improve mu turns. But this is the first time I see mentioning about twisting the board to make turns. I thought that both feet turns simultaneously on heels or toes to make turns 🤔

Hi Nev… I’m a boarder for the past 20 years. I’m taking my 7 year old son to Japan to snowboard for the first time, would you recommend these steps to kick start his journey in snowboarding or do you have any other tips or routines for kids. Cheers Andy
@SnowboardAddiction10 ай бұрын
Hey Andy, We recommend using these steps for anyone learning snowboarding. Setting the groundwork will help them learn faster in the long run, and if they get it fast they can always move to the next stage!

If heel and toe dragging is a beginner way to come to a stop when coasting/sliding from a lift etc ; what’s an advanced way to do it?
@gani22sgr10 ай бұрын
You don't really need to drag your heel or toe. You can just do a heel/toe edge stop just by using the edge of snowboard like how you do while strapped. This way you don't screw up your boots.
@SnowboardAddiction10 ай бұрын
The more advanced way would be stopping the snowboard normally using your edges but with only one foot strapped in - stopping using the heel or toe edge of the snowboard :)
@SnowboardAddiction10 ай бұрын
Any decent snowboard boot will easily handle slowing you down by heel or toe dragging without causing any damage to the boot.
@robbarrell10 ай бұрын
@@SnowboardAddiction yeah I drag my boots all the time and they’re fine. Does kinda spin you round tho if you’re going quick. May sound silly but I never thought to try just standard turns (one footed) to stop. Makes sense. Will try next time I’m riding
