As a Notion virgin, I had high expectations for this video. And other than getting an extremely quick introduction on building pages, it missed the mark for me. As others commented previously, the video could have been shorter based on the actual useful content, there were several Ooops moments with no explanation of how they were resolved, and probably the most accurate summation, "The irony of making a presentation about a planning software without planning the video itself..." The potential for having an awesome "Your First Day with Notion | A Beginner's Guide" is still available.

Great videos BUT it's a shame that when you hit a difficulty, you tend to fix it off camera instead of showing how you actually got it fixed. People watching the videos will encounter the same issue and the video could then've helped. Just a suggestion here
@aneesanoor57503 жыл бұрын
for the calender issue you could just go to the top right corner of the page and from there you will be able to delete the page entirely and make a new page which is really simple

I was introduced to Notion by this channel and I didn't know what it could do. But once I started to learn more about it I am continually amazed. I can organise my work exactly how I want to. I have tried so many apps that ended up being a disappointment. This is something truely different. I love it.

Thank you for the general basics in using Notion as a beginner. I just started a bookkeeping business and I’m trying to find the best layout and design to keep track of my clients and their ongoing due dates and deadlines. I’ve been using Trello, but things are starting to get a bit too jumbled and convoluted. So Notion really seems like a very promising option. I just have to put a lot of thought into it. Thanks again!

Summary (starting at 6:16) 1. Start with a default page. - It's your workspace. - Set a gallery picture you like. - Pick an emoji you like - Name the page something personal - Add a sub-header (mini-description of workspace purpose) - Add a divider to separate sub-header from workspace area - Title the different areas, e.g., "short-term" and "long-term" - Put a divider beneath the different areas 2. Templates then come in - Create a page - Say you want a roadmap, add a roadmap template - Look for a template that matches what you need - You can add direct links on your workspace to your templates - Start with a template, and modify it from there 3. Fill your workspace rapidly - Over time you can gain control over new areas - Notion is a space you can manipulate - Keep it simple at first

Hi, Francesco!! I've been exploring Notion and I'm liking it so far, but there is something I've been missing: let's say you havea project, and you finish it, so you want to take it out of the way. Is there a way of "archive" it? Up to this point, only way to do that I found was to create my own "Archive" page and dragging things into it when they're done. Great video!

I'm a Day-One Newbie and app's tutorials were too piecemeal for me. This overview helped me see some ideas for simplifying my future complex plans. And, yes, I started watching video at 6:00 min! (thanks to earlier commenters for this valuable suggestion) Best advice came at the very end... start with only 1-2 most important pages to get used to things. In between, lots of functionality detail here, which was great to see scope. I'm easily overwhelmed, but realized that I can always come back for more and SLOWLY take in each bit, right? thank you, thank you, thank you.

Best advice to students is get your spec!!!!! E.g I do Weimar & Nazi Germany as part of my course, I have the spec on my left on the wall on my desk. So we have headings which is like the main topic e.g The Establishment & Early years of Weimar , 1918-1924 So that's like my heading In that will be like the lesson focus area, so e.g Impact of war & political crisis of Oct-Nov 1918; context for the establishment of the Weimar; terms, + & -. This can be broken down by lesson!!! I'm making this now, so if anyone is doing AQA A Level History, & if I can share it I will do. Also thank you my man, because you gave me the idea of just looking at my Spec!!!!

I have a Trading Journal Database in Notion. I have students who pay me to have access to that page. I place new trades and updates to existing trades every day. I will have between 5- to 100 Guests on that page/database. I need to let them know immediately when I add a new trade or update an existing page. I can't figure out how to do that. I don't want to have to @mention (name) 100 times each time I make a new trade. I set reminders for like 5 minutes into the future after I make a trade but I don't think all the Guests will see the reminder. How can I make Notion notify all Guests to a page at once when I add or change something to that page?

It was a very helpful guide! But. My notion isn't working on my browser :( "Cannot save changes" in red next to the names of all pages doesn't allow me to edit ANY of my pages :( I just wanted to ask if someone has encountered the same issue and how they figured it out. Thanks for the video, it really helped. The problem I have with Notion is that I use it as a substitute for other services and I feel like I'm not getting the full potential of the tool. Can you make videos like the ones for todoist with various setups? It would be very helpful to view how other people organize themselves in this malleable environment. It really feels like the only limit is my imagination and I'm concerned that it will become too dispersive for work really fast.
