What gogo is saying about friends who are already above you is actually true. I had a friend of over 20 years, we went to the same primary and university together and fortunately for her she got a good job right after varsity and I was unemployed for over 3 years. We continued being best friends and she would invite me to celebrate with her all her achievements and I would be genuinely happy for her. Fast forward to when I got a job and got married in 2022 she couldn’t even pretend😢 to be happy for me and she couldn’t even make it to my wedding.

I cried. This happened to me last year. My heart was so broken, she was there to pick me up from the point where i had given up on myself and all i dreamt of was a spaza shop to take care of my children, she was there for me, I loved her, we had so many plans, and I was so proud when she started making some of those plans come true and I supported her, one moment changed everything, I was awarded my first contract- we were going to do it together, just like we did when she was leading, she disappeared guys! She disappeared 6-7 years of friendship and dreams gone! what helped me move on, is accepting that I did nothing, she was a very vocal and confrontational person, theres no way she could have not confronted me if i did something, I was SHOCKED 100%

Dear, sometimes they stay when you are down because you are a long-term investment when you get up so they can benefit from your success. Also, be mindful of people who you keep around as you progress because they can hang around until you can succeed so they drag you down. There are people who when you struggle, they disappear and they cant give what you gave. The movie Selena is a great example of someone who helps someone they think is a friend, tried to uplift the friend and gets killed by the same friend whom they tried to uplift.
