Great perspective. I feel the same way about W2. I was a stay at home mom from age 23-48. Then went back to corporate job from 8:15-5:30(or 6pm) M-F some Saturdays. I did that for 2 years. It was hard not being able to control my schedule. I had good benefits but that was it. I felt depressed and like I was in jail. I eventually quit. I’ve done some Shipt and Door dash but didn’t commit to gig work. I treated it like a hobby and got hobby pay. I went back to a different W2 and did that for almost 2 years and felt the same, trapped. I took a leave of absence to get surgery and now I’m considering not going back and wanting to try gig work again as a real job not a hobby. We are blessed to be able to have the option to do gig work. Thanks for the videos. I’d love to see more info/ suggestions or tips on how you file taxes and keep track of mileage.

I like the flexibility since I’m a SAHM and I can do this when my husband gets home, and a few extra bucks would help our family out A LOT

There is a different level of the way your think and excute your way through the gig economy. There will be those that persevere and find ways of doing things. And there are others that will need to do half and half what I call the hybrid gig economy. But ultimately having an exit strategy if you cannot make it would be a great idea Don't just leave the gig economy cold turkey.
