First and most important thing to know. If you want to move here and keep Idaho conservative, we can get along. However, if you move here to change Idaho into the state you left by voting blue, we are not afraid to make your life hell until you leave. We’re the Texas of the north, without the southern hospitality.

This sounds marvellous,! My son & I picked this State, at random, to study its geography (from here in Britain) and it's the 1st time that I've been tempted to emigrate. I love the sound of living somewhere that's without light-pollution, upholds civic values, the natural environment and respects privacy; Bryson Wester's hospitable and direct welcome makes it more so!

Ummm nah. Rent for a 3 bedroom single family home in Boise is well over $1500, a 1 bedroom studio can run $1300. I just had to take a rent increase from $1595 to $1895 in Meridian for a 3 bedroom office and 2 bath. The 3 bedroom next-door is renting for $2200. My parents bought their 3 bedroom 2800sq ft brick ranch in Boise for $287,000 in 2013 they have had unsolicited offers over $700,000.

Agreed. some of these pictures look like from 1960s with the clothes. The potatoes aren't picked that way it's corporation owned by Simplot. Also on State Street from downtown Boise going west, many people from Calif, Oregon, Washington state decided to buy up all the little pieces of property and it usually had nice trees foresty like and it's clear cut then Apartments go right up within a year. There's aparts on one side and a convention centre going up on the other side. They just got done pouring the slabs last week. No! they won't buy vacant properties with huge buildings on em for what ever reasons usually greed. Boise has changes because of all the damn ads and now the govt can't handle the huge influx of liberal Californians . Boise is no longer Boise and Same with Meridian. Boise Don't Need it ! Go back home. In fact I took a pic of an Bosnian ladt standing with her kid in her arms looking for food and or money. hasn't been here long but this is the kind of pirates Boise has to deal with these days.

What about the Twin Falls area of Central Southern Idaho? Our area is the most heavily agricultural area in the state, along with being home base for both Chobani, Clif Bar and Amalgamated Sugar (I live 2 miles away from all three plants). We also have CSI (college of Southern Idaho), Shoshone Falls, the infamous I. B. Perrine Bridge (BASE jumping) and the Snake River running through our community-There is a reason we are called the "Magic Valley": we do have it all!!!!!

Rents in north Idaho, Coeur d’Alene Hayden, post falls and surrounding area are over $1500.00 and up. Homes sell in the high $300.000 and up and there aren’t a lot of them. This is as of summer of 2021. 👍

Yeah I saw a great video by a real estate agent in that area, but I forget who it was (no link, sorry). Agrees with your numbers. Nice area :) I just saw it as a bit more elite or high priced, or as you say 'nothing available,' than other areas.

It'll change in a few years. There are thousands of acres of land that's privately held and will need to be sold off at some point or will need to be negotiated with the owner to work for the land. Especially as time goes on and wages stay stagnant.
@AhHereWeGo2 жыл бұрын
We just sold 5 acres of our property for more than we paid for the whole property, the house and shop that were on it 5 years ago. It’s ridiculous. Sadly CDA/Hayden/Post Falls don’t have that small town feel anymore with all the traffic and developments. Glad we went out into the county when we did.
@AhHereWeGo2 жыл бұрын
@@AJ-ox8xy I’m hoping the owners hold firm and/or only sell to locals. The small town feel is gone, graffiti is showing up everywhere, and I’d rather it not turn into another Seattle
@AJ-ox8xy2 жыл бұрын
@@AhHereWeGo some may. It will depend on if locals can still afford to live here they way they want to. Otherwise many will sell to the highest bidder and simply most somewhere else in hopes of at least maintaining their standard of living. But at this point the market has already begun to fall apart. We have a long way to fall still, but we are in free fall at this point. Personally I believe very soon, most people will be far to scared to sell or buy simply because they have no idea if they'll get trapped with a large mortgage or sell for pennies on the dollar of what they could have received.

I lived in Coeurd'alene for years most of north Idaho is small towns and national forest I've been to Murray it's way out there in Shoshone county which is where Wallace is it's part of the silver valley which includes Kellogg Idaho. The panhandle is full of lakes and rivers the largest of the lakes in the panhandle are lake coeurd'alene and lake pendorielle or ponderay Idaho's largest and deepest lake and submarines are tested in lake pendorielle because it's so deep there is a town named bay view where their tested to see if the subs can handle the crushing pressure of the ocean basically. As far as north Idaho goes coeurd'alene is the hub it's the largest town in the panhandle as far as I know. Fun weird fact about Idaho The state was going to be named colorado the 2 states had a war over the name not an actual war with guns or anything like that it was more like a claim war there is a town in Colorado named Idaho springs roughly 50 miles west of Denver in the mountains up i70. Idaho means gem of the mountains and colorado is Spanish for the color red. The Spokane river flows out of lake coeurd'alene it's the starting point.

I’ve lived in California most of my 68 years. We moved to Austin for my husband’s work, and people were very welcoming. Returned to California after 3 years due to another work transfer. I really don’t understand why there is so much hostility towards Californians. If you ask around, there are very few native Californians. The tech industry ruined California. Ridiculous housing prices and traffic. So if we decide to relocate, it’s because we’ve been squeezed out of our state and just want to live a simple life and enjoy nature. No reason to be hateful toward us.

You might want to reconsider... Idaho is seriously struggling with the growth. I was prepared to move last month until I fully appreciated the impact it's having. Regardless of your politics, moving there now at a time when the influx shows no signs of slowing and the eviction moratorium was just lifted is inconsiderate and socially irresponsible. Presumably, by "too much going on," you're referring to the overpopulation in California. Why would you help recreate exactly what you're fleeing? Nobody wants a new neighbor who's that delusional and entitled.
