Very important, causes all kinds of problems. I leaned out all my jetting and was still getting black spooge and erratic running. Got a new jet block O-ring and it all went away.

Some people call it the mid body gasket. I believe jet block gasket is correct name though.

thanks for this video bud! I couldnt tune my 35 pwk for the life of me with any size pilot jet, sure enough the oring was beyond wore out, it tuned on a 48 PJ once I replaced it and it runs like a million bucks now, thanks again

Holy smoke, i got the same problems and countless times changing jets, or messing around with the air screw. At the end i found out my problem was not with the rubber but with the ditch that the oring to sit in, the ditch was not even so i has to hot air some plastic into parts of the ditch that was too deep. That fixed the problem hahaha

Thank god I think you finally solved the issue on my KDX. Just impossible to get this thing jetted at low RPMs and idle. Also loads up constantly. Definitely going to order one of these and see if it fixes my issue. Thank you!

Sorry I actually forgot about this comment that I made. But yes, it worked. So happy to discover the solution was so simple.

A $15 needle valve is cheaper than buying a new piston. I've ran the CR250 in my race car that I was changing the needle valve twice a year its maintenance that's all it is When the needle valve swells it will lean your bike out you can possibly C's it up
@TurbodanNM5 жыл бұрын
Never seen yet, not in 22 years of riding. I'll let you know when the 25 year old needle valve in my K series 125 decides to swell up, or the 16 year old one in my 03.

I actually filed the jetblock mounting bosses down in the attempt to seal those orings still doesn't work
@kylelanders8452 жыл бұрын
Would this cause alot of smoking, no torque and bike feels really laggy alot of power loss and keeps fouling plugs when I pull them they are black and wet looking but my bikes jetted correctly idle screw and airmixture screw doesn't do much
@kylelanders8452 жыл бұрын
Also replaced topend and put brandnew vforce 3 reeds in so that eliminates them issues it's a 2000 ktm 125sx

This is a pretty good description of the usual symptoms. In any case I always tell people the same thing, it's a 20 year old o-ring. If by some chance it's not rock hard and completely trashed, it sure won't be much longer until it is.

Anyone know a trick to holding the o ring in place while installing back on carb? Thanks aaron
@TurbodanNM6 жыл бұрын
I just seat the oring as best I can into the jet block and carefully place the block upward into the carb body. I suppose you could use a few dabs of superglue to adhere the oring to the block but I've never found it necessary.
@Hermiwalle6 жыл бұрын
don't neccesarily use glue a little dab of grease is way better for intallation AND removing

Hey buddy, on those old pwk carbs, are the floats bigger that the newer ones? I'm having trouble with the float not matching the manual? Therefore I can't adjust the hight..
@freetaylor722 жыл бұрын
Working on a 01 ktm 200, and the same rubber gaskets are shot on mine. It's got a 16 gram float in it and it's not matching what's in the service manual. Was that an original float? Anybody?.... can't find any info about it
@TurbodanNM2 жыл бұрын
@@freetaylor72 I don't worry much about float height. It's not the big deal some people make it out to be. Too high will waste fuel, too low might bog under certain conditions. Seems to tolerate a wide range though.

What bit did you use on the tamper proof screws?
@TurbodanNM3 жыл бұрын
You can buy a bit for the tamper resistant torx screws, though I can't remember which size. Before I had that I cut a slot into the head and removed them that way.
