You can read Hawking’s “A Brief History of Time.” You can study classical literature. You can read religious texts that detail how we got here and what we’re supposed to do now.
… or you can gather up a bunch of junk from your bedroom and use it to unpack the majesty of the human experience.
The observable universe is unfathomably large, but we can use a piece of paper to understand how it got that way. Humans come in all types and vary tremendously, but really, we’d all fit inside a sugar cube.
And despite nearly 8 billion of us running around the planet, it’s pretty easy for us to stand out and do something unique.
We’re capable of great things because we’re equipped with a supercomputer that can process even the most complex problems in math, science, and ourselves. It’s not that hard to start working together, especially if we’ve got a few ways to exchange what we know, what we have, and how we feel.
Put it all together and we see what we’re working against: the absence of all that value. And because we’re such a critical part of a system too complex to understand, despite paradoxically seeming insignificant, we can find meaning inside an old briefcase.

@phantomzo8209
@phantomzo8209 3 жыл бұрын
Can be simply means that is possible. It does not mean that it is easy to do. However, with enough dedication, most people can solve a cube in 20 moves or fewer. Most people, however, prefer to spend their time on other things. From what I understand, it is like learning art. The more you draw, the better you get at it. It may take some people a longer time to master various aspects of art, but with enough dedication you can get similar results as any great artist. (Assuming you have the necessary tools for the artwork, of course).

Thing is for example Speedcubing is not necessarily about getting the least amount of moves. You cannot quickly see a cube in some permutation for the first time and immediately know what 20 moves you need, so you use algorithms that solve EVERY single permutation. There is a separate category where people do try to achieve God’s Number. Here you get a scrambled cube and you have one hour to come up with the solution with the least amount of moves you can manage. That is way harder than it sounds

Fun fact: using the Birthday Paradox as a model, it'd take around 1.06 x 10^34 shuffles of a deck of cards before you'd have 50:50 odds of a repeated ordering. If we sent colonies to every planet in the Milky Way, waited until they each had 10 billion people there, then made them all shuffle cards once every 10 seconds for 16 hours a day, it'd take 5 million years to get 50:50 odds of there being a repeated shuffle.

Not every paper, a normal A4 is not big enough to do that because at some point you run out of atoms. Imagine folding it so much that you now have a single line of atoms , if you did this in a normal A4 paper you wont reach the size of the universe because you cant fold anymore. You need a huge paper. Someone did the math but I'm too lazy to find it.

I know this video is years old, but I did want to say something about human uniqueness: For a while, I’ve equated human to Rogue-Like deck builders. Each experience, pressure, trait, etc causes a new card to be added to our deck. You end up with a near infinite number of cards. Even if each card isn’t unique, their combination is. We can have similar deck archetypes to one another, but each deck is unique. So, you don’t have 108,000 people just like you, you are unique. Don’t worry :)

Let's combine all these objects into one - A deck of 52 different paper banknotes, all from different countries. One of them could have a ''joke'' zero banknote and one of them could be the exact volume of a sugar cube. The box of these cards could be a 3x3 Rubik's Cube and be made from the same exact materials the a pencil is made from. It holds all the values that these 7 items hold _(The box is the Rubik's Cube/thinking and pencil/talent combination, the contents are all different banknotes i.e. cooperation, plus a fully playable deck, i.e. one's uniqueness, plus they are all made of paper so they can theoretically _*_also_*_ be folded some 103-104 times to become the size of the universe. One of the banknotes is a zero/finding meaning, or alternatively the zero could be displayed on the Rubik's Cube box, and one of the banknotes would also be the volume of all of humanity compressed into one object),_ and additionally it'd have the message of how everything is made in different parts of the world, but eventually comes together into one coherent place for all of us to cherish (All the banknotes would be from foreign countries after all). Or maybe I'm just overthinking it lol.

It seems the permutations for the cube were calculated as if every square is independent of all others. [The only squares are the center of each face and those don't move in relation to each other. They only rotate in place. Then you have side pieces, each made up of 2 sqares, so those can never occupy a center nor a corner. Lastly the corner pieces, made up of 3 squares binded together forever, can only be at one of the 8 corners of the cube. And unless you pick it apart, the inherent cube mechanism prevents a lot of possible "unsolvable" arrangements.]
