Your Mix Isn’t Done Until You’ve Addressed These 3 Things

Your mix could be suffering from some terrible tips taking a hold of your MIX BUS! In this video, we'll tackle three common and concerning misconceptions in the mixing and mastering world:
Volume Automation on the Mix Bus: Such as boosting the chorus downbeat on your mix bus and why this is problematic for mastering. Better methods exist and we'll break that down in this video, using alternative special automation techniques.
Removing Mix Bus Plugins Before Mastering: Most of the time, this is bad idea for a few different reasons... we'll talk about top-down mixing and how removing these plugins disrupts the mix. Always communicate with your mastering engineer about mix bus processing.
Limiter on the Mix Bus Before Client Review: Boosting volume using a limiter for client previews is helpful for context. BUT pushing volume to the max during mixing makes satisfaction during mastering, potentially disappointing clients. The easy fix is covered in this video!

U have to change the stereo width before hook make it skinny 2 bars before and then back wide when hook starts

mixbus volume automation is a largely used process by gigants like CLA, Andy Wallace (It's documented in their tutorials at Mix with The Masters) as well as Serban Ghenea (his assistant explained their process on a forum Q&A). They all ride automation for particular sections of the songs (mostly choruses) even as much as +1.50 dB. Andy Wallace has also shown the kind of automation you talked about of raising the Overhead or Kick hits on the first downbeat of the chorus.
