I still remember that epic match against John Spencer in the 1978 World Snooker Championship like it was yesterday. Reardon was just on fire, and his finesse and shot selection were nothing short of brilliant. Seeing him make that incredible break of 147 was something I'll never forget. It's players like Reardon who leave a lasting impression on the sport, and his contribution to the world of snooker cannot be overstated. Rest in peace, Reardon. You were one of the best, and your legacy will live on through the sport you loved.

Great video as always Stephen, grand stuff. You've had many current and former players on the channel, but I'd love to see a referee or two on here. A veteran ref like Jan Verhaas and maybe young Desislava, I think that'd be cool for them to talk about how they got into snooker, some of their favourite matches, etc. And finally RIP to Ray, we've lost a legend and a giant of the game. Many younger snooker fans don't know just how much he gave to the world of snooker.

I was always told by an old boy at my local snooker club (think he was a billiards word champion, years and years ago, probably 50's or 60's) and he said never put side on a ball until you can consistantly make 30/40 breaks, unless you really think you can get away with it, or playing a safety shot. Basically learn to pot a ball straight, before you can start to learn how to control the cue ball on a pot.

All great tips for anyone who plays pool/snooker. I think one of the best tips I heard in this video was at 10:00 and the best way to have an effective screw or top spin is to follow through. You see so many people trying to screw the white ball back but they have no follow through and wonder why the ball doesn't screw back. Watch all of the pros in slow motion and see how much follow through they have. Keep up the great show, Stephen!

To be honest it’s going to be really difficult. I guess the best advice would be to try and get your stance to exactly the same level each time when possible, and focus even harder on keeping your head and body as planted as possible when cueing and striking the cue ball . Good luck!

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Jimmy was still deeply upset over some of those losses in the world finals. He should have won two of them and made traumatic nervous errors on easy shots that made them slip through his fingers. I doubt he likes being reminded of them at all, let alone being interviewed about them. He may also not want to look so poor on the tough table challenge etc, since his game is now nothing like it used to be and that alone can be too upsetting for many players. I'm glad Jimmy has still bee playing in the seniors and so on though, I still love watching him play.

Do drills of just going THROUGH the cueball. Practice a straight blue, potting the blue and then following through to pot the white in the same pocket! Do that 20 times. Then the same shot but go through the cueball but with screw. Pot the blue and screw the white back into the opposite pocket. The aim is to make sure your following THROUGH the cueball with every single shot. It will help stop the deceleration in your cue action. 20 with topspin 20 with screw. When you can do this and pot the object ball and the white consistently the hips should start to disappear. I'm struggling myself with decel ATM and it's ravaged my game. Just go back to simple but effective drills. The key is to relax your whole body and just put the time in. Leave all the fancy stuff out and go right back to basics....keep everything ad smooth as possible with a still head. Practice keeping your head completely still until the shot is over and Practice playing with less pace, almost just tapping everything in. Less power = more control in general. Hope u fix your issue dude. I know through personal experience it can be maddening. Good luck👊🏽

I'd like to see you bring on Si Jiahui and Zhao Xintong, among some other younger Chinese players. Understandably the language barrier makes it tough, would probably need a translator present.

I have one question about the rules of the game. When referees recreate a position after a foul, they sometimes ask the players - both players - if they are happy with the position. I've never seen a referee ask the players whether they're happy with their decision in any sport. Why does this happen in snooker?

For anyone that has listened to Jimmy in the last few years, one thing is evident, Jimmy is a bitter and unhappy guy

People get some funny ideas in their heads about things (and people) they know nothing about. Jimmy has never had anything but praise for Stephen and even did a special appearance on his This Is Your Life episode after losing the World Championship final to him. Do you think Stephen would - apparently repeatedly - ask him to come on his channel if he thinks Jimmy is a bitter and unhappy guy?

@@JWD1012 Complain about people making assumptions, while making your own assumptions. I see what you did there. Clearly said "over the last few years", so using supporting evidence from 30 years ago is a bit pointless is it not?

@@Thom-f1p I'm not complaining about you making an assumption, I'm complaining about you making a demonstrably untrue one. You can listen to any interview Jimmy has given from way back then until now and see that he likes and praises Hendry to the heavens. It wouldn't be surprising if he WAS bitter, but he doesn't seem to be. If anything he gets too much stick for still looking forwards and acting like he has a chance to win the big one in his 60s.

Jimmy White may not have the title of world champion to his name, but in the world of snooker, he is a true legend. With his quick pace and skillful play, he captured the hearts and minds of fans around the globe. While some may focus on titles and accolades, those who truly appreciate the game know that White stands in a league of his own. So, let's acknowledge that and give credit where credit is due - Jimmy White is a snooker god, period.

The angle stays the same, regardless off whether you're 2 inched or 2 foot away. Look up the "ghost ball technique".. it's by far the best way to understand what's happening and what you need to do.
