Before I line dry my gear, I run it through the spin only cycle in my washer for a couple of minutes. It definitely help get the excess water out and speeds up on the line drying process. Just make sure you don’t overload it or your washer will try to dance out of your garage.

The CGI on this channel is just amazing! Also, did NOT know I could wash my helmet like so. Good deal too because I never take it off.

Dry cleaning means they don't use water, but they use liquids, i.e., other chemicals that don't contain water. It works particularly well in synthetic materials because it removes stains at lower temperatures - higher temperatures may damage these textiles, hence the advantage. Don't ask me how I know this. Ok, I know because I checked on Wikipedia, there.

I did this with my leather jacket and it shrunk up like a damned raisin!!! CURSE YOU!!! haha just kidding Thanks for tutorial - sometimes it just takes someone to tell you what to do and then you think "Well duh, why didn't I think of that?!" I sweat A LOT!! Way more than most people - but I'm 1/4 Swedish so that's why. My friends call me a polar bear cuz I wear shorts year round and love my house to be in the mid to high 60s all the time! And humidity is the worst!! I sweat immediately. BUT NOW, thanks to you, I've got some proper cleaning ideas. I'm going to buy 3 pairs of pads for my helmet. Wear 1 while riding, one is drying and one is on deck (more dry than the other) if I need to swap out on a long ride. Thanks mate.....now about that leather jacket.....

Hand wash in a sink or bucket. Turn them inside-out and wash again. Rinse outsides and insides thoroughly. Lay flat inside-out to dry insides, then turn outsides-out and lay flat again. Be patient; it will not be a quick process.

If you want to get the stank out of your boots throw some baking soda in them and let it sit overnight 👍

This has been here a long time, and I don't know if you've already got the answer to this, but here it is anyway... Dry cleaning is a waterless process that uses a solvent in a large high-capacity tumbling machine to clean clothing. The solvent is then extracted from the fabric and the clothes get steamed or pressed, and packaged to be returned to the customer. I'm pretty sure that's how it works. It's either that or pixie magic.

Oooo. Nice Crown glass! I generally wash my helmet pads about the same but I did try putting my jacket without the pads in the wash once and it held up fine. It was still a little stained bc white jacket (terrible choice... hard to keep clean) so imma try the bathtub method next

My washing machine has variable speed and temperature, so I just run the "tumble" program at maybe 20c with some liquid soap already mixed in with the gear. ....that may or may not include the boots as well :D
