I'm not an expert on NFTs by any means. Some terms may be incorrect, but the overall concept should be accurate.

Not ALL NFTs are URLs (scams). Nice video, I'm enjoying your content, thank you 🌱🙏 Everyone should do their own research, 20-25 hours minimum per topic, IMO 😉🌱🙏

@@fluxcapacitor4609 Glad you're enjoying the content! I haven't come across any NFT project that seemed to have much validity behind it.

@@sideofburritos Like I said, "not all NFTs are scams" IMO. Enjoyed your Google Pixel video. Question: how does a hardened browser standout from others that aren't hardened, use privacy extensions, etc?

Amazing! I didn't really know anything about this. I don't own any NFT's but I've only listened to the hype about them. Makes me really think about it. Excellent and informative video!

Thanks! Once you peel back the outer layer of hype, it's pretty crazy what's left over. Sadly, I think NFTs killed any hope that crypto had for going mainstream (among the other huge scams).

I read that some NFTs are actually the file in question, but it's simply too expensive to host it on the blockchain (or mint it or whatever, i am clueless on this stuff) if it's a big file. Therefore, unless you wanna pay a bunch of costs or have a patheticly small file size, your NFT is usually a url but it doesn't necessarily have to be. I read this on a blog post about Web 3.0 which echoes a lot of the stuff you say, but of course now I cannot find it. The guy who wrote it created an NFT of a turd emoji as a url, but he controlled the website and made it so the emoji was different depending on what device you came to the url on, kinda like how KZbin looks different if you're on mobile as opposed to desktop. It ended up getting delisted on OpenSea with no explanation given, i.e. they were salty he exposed the idea of the NFT owner actually owning anything.

I just did some searching around, and it looks like cryptopunks is stored on the blockchain because the image is 24x24 pixels. I wasn't able to find a straight answer on the theoretical storage size limit. But like you mentioned, I think it comes down to how expensive it would be. Is this the article you're referring to? moxie.org/2022/01/07/web3-first-impressions.html. Pretty entertaining read.

@@sideofburritos Aha Yes! That was it. You clearly have better googling (in my case, duckduckgo-ing) than me as I tried to look it up but couldn't get anywhere.

I was expecting something worse. Like a temporary aws instance:)

Haha, there's nothing from stopping that since the individual sets the URL for where it's hosted.

NFTs remind me of China's empty super cities, pointless wirh a sense of immanent doom.

The only type of NFT I care about are Web3 domain names. Far more useful than some goofy jpeg image.
