That's what I thought was the right thing to do. Sadly my ex partner owns a whole different set of values. Arogance and control issues dominate his approach to people close to him. After I tried setting clear boundaries when he began aiming his poisonous words mostly towards me, his continuous malice affirmed that he was determined to keep acting godlike. His attacks worsened after I fleed him because my not being available to him meant he wasn't in control anymore so he released the kind of spiteful jealous rage that only extremely insecure weak and codependent men display. There is no one rule for all here, people speak different languages. Some of understanding and love, others of fear and power.
