By the way, the picture at the very end is the Erika approach into Naples. Just in case you were wondering.

Thanks a lot for the informative videos 😊 With the hot brakes, do you then sometimes have to leave the gear down slightly longer after liftoff? Or do you postpone your departure and wait at the stand/gate? Or taxi slower so less braking upon taxiing towards the departure RWY? Curious to hear how to deal with this in real life :) Thanks again! 😊
@fsclipsАй бұрын
@@mr.airspace we discussed this in my video about the brake fan. You leave the gear extended to cool it down after take off, After landing you wait 5 min before switching it on but not at the gate. Hope this helps.

Question: Is GLS implemented in the Fenix already. I don't think it is? I lack any Airbus type rating, I know LPV is a common option on the newer Airbuses aka A350 but if I recall correctly, quite some (older) Thales equipped A320 lack the technical upgrades to be able to do GLS approaches (for now...). Has your airline done the retrofits for it?
@fsclipsАй бұрын
No, we don't do GLS approaches. I think people would be surprised at how company specific the FMS software can be. We have certain visual approaches coded in the MCDU and permission from the authorities to fly them on autopilot. The same is true for certain circling approaches. We also have our own procedures for Innsbruck which are also pre-programmed into the aircraft. Sometimes I would love to compare these things to other airlines.
@MajorLazer182Ай бұрын
@@fsclips You said it! My inner nerd would LOVE to have some inofficial slideshow/comparison table that highlights the intricate details of customized aircraft & systems between different airlines. I just know from Corporate/Private Aviation (BBJs and Bombardiers) that usually most options are ticked when configuring the aircraft, as opposed to some airline that reaallly flips each penny twice thinking if they actually need a system or not. So a BBJ 737 has almost every option that an airline 737 pilot is dreaming about (HUD, the fancy navigational equipment, other fancy third party equipment etc.). And Airbus will do a lot of on-request options too, best example is the bogey style double rear landing gear option they developed for Air India's A320s

I believe Swiss keeps the wing lights on from pushback to 10K and then back to the gate as well.

"Idle Reverse should always be used"? That's new to me.
@fsclips12 күн бұрын
@@ClevaTreva After landing you must engage the reverse thrust. Either idle or full, depending on your landing calculation. Landing without any reversers is not allowed according to Airbus. Hope this helps.

@@fsclips Wow. I've been doing it wrong all this time! At what stage do you set Idle Reverse and for how long should you keep it going?

Was that the ERIKA 1A arrival for Naples (NAP) for landing on RW (ILS) 24? I hope you got a "Direct To". Actually, not that hard for an "average" Flight simmer. 😀😀😀
