Jobs that are hiring are the high labor jobs. Food service, propane exhange, 5 gallon water exchange. But they pay pretty decent and keep you in shape.

I’m a rookie driver . 3 months of experience, I got hired by Schneider without any experience. You go through 2 weeks of orientation and one week with a trainer. The pay is low to be honest but who cares all you need as a new driver with no experience is someone to trust you and give you equipment to start your journey.

I've been considering making this career change at 40. I have 5 years clean driving experience but only with a box truck. Hoping that would count for something. Definitely wasn't a cdl truck but it was about as big as I was allowed to operate without a cdl.

just got my cdl im 42 and i can say alot of what he is saying is true but not true there are alot of carriers that sent recruiters to my school schnieder, stevens transport ,melton, total transport , all hire new cdl holders out the gate but heres the kicker there all otr mostly i got a local job doing beer delivery but all the good paying local jobs a year or so experience

I drove dump truck for 3 years and garbage truck for 3 years i let my CDL go because i got sick and i didnt think i could pass my medical . Iv'e been out of the game for 3 years . I ready to jump back in i'm better and thinking about going to prime to start over and stick with it till i can't drive anymore .

This is a lie , I can name 10 companies off the top of my head that will hire you fresh CDL no experience. Long as your work history is consistent and driving record is clean .

Beverage/Food delivery will always hire without experience. Pepsi, Coke, 7Up, Ajax turner, DET, Reyes, Sysco, US Foods, PFG, Performance Food Service, McClain, Gordon Food Service! These are all LOCAL too. You’ll have to sacrifice but if you’re looking to not sleep in a truck that’s the way to go.

Mega Carriers will also not pay you anything, I was with Werner for 3 months my biggest check was $800 take home. First month is training and they’ll pay you a little over $500 a week because you “have no experience” lol. Sleeping in a truck with a trainer for a whole month.

My husband spoke with a recruiter at Prime and they told him not to waste his time . Because he was a new graduate he paid for his own school out of packet and had zero experience Prime / the Recruiter rejected his application. Now he is 2 months in with Swift and is horrible 😢but he is sticking to it to get his experience. The pay is horrible . He has been out for 3 weeks hasn’t been home and his checks are $400 weekly so hard to survive with $400 a week when you have children. It sucks that prime doesn’t give new graduates the opportunity.

Wow that's the problem not going through this school. You have to understand most schools don't teach nothing but to pass a test. That's why it's like that if I get a student from a school I know it's going to be problems

My friend You have this all wrong . Recruiting at any truck driving school is very high . Recruiters are talking to new students daily. And yes a mega carrier is usually the way to get your year and better yet 2 years of experience. And you know that trucking companies don't accept hot shot , dump truck , ups van driving as experience. You have told all that see your video.... untruths

Negative. Straight trucks and a tractor trailer operate completely differently. I drive both at my current job. However, some say just OTR experience. Good luck out there.
