My partner loves me wearing quarter steel heel tips on my shoes really love the sound they make, and especially asks me to wear them for him when he takes me out would love to put toe plates on as well, think that glint of metal flashing as I walk would really please him !

ive got really bad heel drag. ive had to get new boots every so often because i wear through the soles of the shoes so fast. sometimes the boot itself still looks good but the sole is worn out. i didnt even know this was a thing! ive seen them on cowboy boats so thought it was for aesthetics. next pair i get ill definitely be doing this too. killer shoes btw. awesome work!

What product do you use to put the color back on the sole after sanding??... cobblers near me won't do these I do them myself .. but I have used dye on the tip .. is that correct?

Nice video man, I really like your style and presentation, plus those shoes look great! I need toe plates on all my shoes because I quickly wear the toes down and want to protect the welts. Are there different lengths of screws for toe plates? I've been dabbling in shoe repair the past few months and have got pretty good at bringing old, worn and scuffed uppers back to life. It's really fun for some reason, and I've started experimenting with reheeling. I'd like to be able to install my own toe plates and do resoles at some point, but I'm honestly not sure how to break into doing larger jobs. Would you have any tips for where to go from here? I asked a local cobbler if he needed any part-time help, but he said he didn't need anyone at the moment. Other than teaching myself, I'm kind of at a loss on where to go next.

...Dainite sole would last far longer without the noise the metal toe plates will make while walking and could still be very slippery as well especially with the UK weather (including Scotland)...
