I know this is an older video but I wanted to say I really appreciate it. I’ve had a lot of adventures where I find random disbursed campsites and had a blast, and other trips it feels like everything is full, and return trips where I realize there were more I missed that MAY have been open.

Good video and great tips! I definitely hear from a lot of people that they struggle with this, so this is super helpful. I'm laughing because I literally just added this topic to my list of videos to create last week. Keep up the great work!

I have really enjoyed your video, I have always kind of planned ahead with on-x off-road and can download for offline use which is nice. I love the Oregon coast, I’m in Eugene from SW Colorado this past year and the coastal range is my escape !

Thank You. I will have to review this more when I am ready ... it is very helpful. I have a couple of the "apps" and I recall letting others know and as it came from me ... they didn't give it much thought .... tells a lot about me (but when I play I keep the guitar tuned :-) )

Nice job. We have a similar video that has been on the back burner for a while now. Our strategy is a lot like yours except we just use iOverlander to see where others have camped then Google Earth for spot of our own. But like you said, you just need to get out there and find them! nate
@ScaleofTwo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Nate! iOverlander is definitely a good spot to get some context clues.

Great video! We've never had a ton of luck trying to find great dispersed camp spots on the Oregon coast. Granted we don't make it out there nearly as much as we do the Cascades. Thanks for sharing!
@ScaleofTwo2 жыл бұрын
We’ve definitely been hit and miss out there as well. In the cascades it’s hard to find a bad campsite, I feel like you gotta work a little more when you’re on the coast 😅

Any tips for finding dispersed camping for towing a Black Series, so I can go off-road. We want to find places close to water features, beaches, creeks, lakes, etc.
@ScaleofTwo2 жыл бұрын
Well we have never towed, so I can’t really say much in that regard. I think this advice applies to most situations (even towing), just make sure the road you choose is friendly to whatever you’re towing! OnXoffroad is a good way to see road conditions n such

Hey there. If you don't mind, why didn't you take that route in spring? Was it still too cold? (Starting plans for a cross-country and looking for advice.) ah, I see you've got videos about it. Thanks!
@ScaleofTwo2 жыл бұрын
Well, we had planned both routes and been watching the weather. A huge storm had rolled in through the upper route, so we took the southern route. Also, lots of snow still on the ground and we were in the Prius at the time.

TheDyrt trial version is annoying with one page/pop up which appears over 15 time in the first 15 minutes. Annoying useless pop up’s is a “no go”. I don’t know if it will stop with the pro version but I am not paying one cent for annoying pop up’s

Something funny, I have been to that dead end campsite, and yes it is a tight fit and I had to hack away at some branches that fell over across the track, lots of pinstriping going on but it was a good place to go away from everything. I sure wish I could post pics on here in the comments but have them on Instagram I think lol
@bajasoobnut2 жыл бұрын
And also from experience from last year doing the gambler 500 they don't update the maps on any of the systems as much as they need to and it is partially due to the various government groups not reporting gates and such, a lot of roads in the foothills are now gated off for various reasons, at least from 20 on up past mollala.
@ScaleofTwo2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunate! I’ve seen a lot of gates out in the forests on the coast, definitely a bummer.

@@jbird1012 last year yes, didn't do much cleanup as the friends that were with us in their own rig dragged their butt too much in the morning so we didn't get over to the store till almost sundown, had to find camp in the dark lol, planning to do it this year but with different plans, just hope the higher altitude routes are clear of snow by that time.

I downloaded the free Dyrt app & when I do my search the map is greyed out & it doesn’t show anything.
