Hi nice to see you back! I saw the channel maker video and it was good content. However, I missed a click. They didn't even bother to introduce themselves or show/say their names. Donu think it's unimportant that the audience don't know your name?

Hi, I know that KZbin does closed captions, but they’re not always grammatically correct. Would you like me to do yours? I’m not a scammer. I know this request looks bizarre, but I do my own and I don’t mind doing yours. Even the deaf should get your advice. I used to watch you on channel makers and I thought it was your channel. I really love what you do and I put your advice into my channel. You say everything in a way that is easy to understand because you also demonstrate it which is easy for me to do as a person who has a communication and learning disorder, it makes it easier to learn from someone like you. I’m so glad that you made your own channel. Keep up the good work.

You deserve to get monetized. Congrats! I follow both you and Channel Makers because your content is extremely useful. My channel is new, but I firmly believe that there is a big audience out there for my channel. Beluga creates tangentially similar content to mine and they have a big audience. It’s just a matter of time for my channel to explode.

Something I've tried to live by: "Direction is more important than position." If you are at the bottom, as long as you are progressing, then you are going to get there. If you are at the top, if you aren't growing, you'll soon be dropping off. So direction is more important than position.

Hey Nate - I just want to say a huge huge thank you. Words can't describe how you have helped change my life. I started a channel about two years ago and had never done anything KZbin related before. I needed to learn everything from scripting, filming, editing, publishing and I learned most of that from you. But most of all I learned how to do what you talk about in this video - truly believe that my audience exists and that I can be successful. Lo and behold I'm being hired for my absolute dream job running digital video for one of the largest soccer media companies in the US. I did the work, but you were there most of the way to help me onwards. I know it's not "you vs Channel Makers" and I had even been a part of Project 24 specifically because of you, but even today both of your thumbnails were next to each other on my home page... guess which one I clicked on first. Thank you Nate, good luck on your new project. I'll be watching!

Nate, these suggestions are brilliant. On the surface they’re simple, but their impact is profound. True success begins within each of us, beginning with our mindset. What we do as creators is personal. Yes, personal to us but most importantly personal to our viewers. As I create, I literally envision a single viewer and how my content provides value to them. Then I expand that vision with a mental image of hundreds of thousands of like-minded people… viewers. Kind of like a globe with pins all over the map… thinking globally. Thanks for the great advice you provide and best of luck with your new endeavor.

I was going to say "how do I begin here" but I think it is safe for me to say here that: 1) I am crying my eyes out! 2) This has been the most emotionally impactful content creation video I have seen in my journey since October 2022. 3) Because it has had this emotional impact on me, it proves to me that, whatever the content might be, it IS a VERY emotional journey. 4) That I am in excellent, like minded, company. 5) That I need to get out of my own way for 5 minutes and instead of dancing like no one is watching, I need to let my dreams be free long enough to visualise the possibilities. 6) This video is going to stay with me for a VERY long time and will probably govern how I apply myself from this point on. 7) I thank you for that. "ACT AS IF..." is the first thing I was taught when I started selling insurance. It was one of the things the top sales people in my company told me... It's a good lesson. But I'm trying to find an audience that I'm not sure exists at all. (I just started a second channel and people my age are over 70) who are still aware of the important things going on in society and who have the time and curiosity to tune into KZbin in order to find out more... (politics - no, religion - no, science - yes, education - yes, music - yes...). I don't know where to start to even find the first picture. (And I was a researcher...) Help!
@TarzanHedgepeth

Look up Fran. I think she is targeting a similar audience. She also invents little things like the “Franocaster” or something like that? Anyway - that’s the first thing that popped in my head that would help… also, to keep in mind that yesterday’s “50-80” years old is not the same as today’s… the modern group in that range has a more generally humble approach. That generation spent a great deal of time doing a routine, but not an awfully large amount of time really learning or maturing in some other ways - but now they’re very interested in that kind of growth - I dare say more than any other generation, to be honest. They’re the most prominent commenters on videos, the nicest people, the most humble; they’re ready and willing to learn… almost without a matter about “politics” or “religion”; though, you will find the majority are common sense individuals in a general sense politically, but unfortunately easier to confuse spiritually, ironically owing to their humility (which actually ironically creates a pride in one’s own personal growth which is counter-productive to true spirituality, but I digress…) TL;DR - treat that group like they’re 25 years old. Treat the 20-35 year olds like they’re 15. Treat the 35-50 year olds like they’re 80… and treat kids above 12 like they’re 20(minus sex or profanity) because those are the generational attitudes, basically; due to the confusion of society at so many levels…. Hope you do well, ma’am - and obviously I’m speaking my OPINION - I know your generation understands that, but the one directly following mine doesn’t(I’m 39); so I’m saying it aloud so I’m not accused of arrogance without context or whatever else might often occur… I’m a researcher, too; but that’s just my way of life - not a career.

@@TarzanHedgepeth Thank you... I know there are people like me - I know there are probably a lot of them. @@nellies-taekook-journals Society will always dismiss the best of itself… because that generation is a mirror of what is and what could be and what should be (with a smattering of what should have been different; but just a little) - and people don’t want to wash their faces… and they’ll run with that LITTLE BIT that should have been different and use that as their deflection and excuse to be EXTREMELY wrong… More based in the physical reality - maybe it’s your job to write down what a senior section should look like and what it should be filled with? If you can’t find it… make it! Maybe make that your channel focus for a while. What are YOU looking for when you are seeking a senior section? What images come to mind? Start there. I imagine some of that would be some philosophy and some war and some poetry, and grief and loss, and specific skill sets like singing and writing and painting, older music and biographies, genetics and ancestry, etc… but I don’t know for sure. Wow Nate! I'm glad I stuck around to the end. I have been watching you on Channel Makers for a long time. This was one of your best videos ever.. I am affected and I appreciate you more than I can possibly express. I'm turning 60 next year and my journey has been slow on here. I was actually considering just giving up.. you inspired me to keep going. The biggest thing was your statement "never forget it's about real people doing things that matter" - I work in tech..in SEO and I'm dealing with AI nipping at my heels so I had thrown up my hands.. thinking being a content creator would now be even harder. Thank you for instilling hope in us all.. we got this! Thanks again and congratulations on the quick growth!! Looking forward to more!

Hi! I’m 50 plus, too, and my channel is growing very slowly but steadily. I popped on your channel looking for basic, user friendly, common tech issues, especially for us older folk, like how to use your iPhone calendar, how to use iPhone Notes, how to set phone reminders, how to send group texts, how to make a Zoom call, how to face the window/light when on camera and not sit with your back against the light, etc.😆 When exploring most of your video titles, I didn’t even know what these things were. They were so far over my head and unrelateable.Many of us older folk, unlike you, are way behind the tech ball and were not raised in the tech era, so we struggle! I believe your channel has great merit, but it seems to be marketed to the 2% of the 50 plus population who knows what you’re speaking of. If you modified your content to actually help the mature adult with simple, detailed, concise answers to everyday tech issues, I feel that you would get more traction. This is just my opinion, so please take what you like and discard the rest. All the best!🌻

How great to see you back in business and in your own name this time. I've watched your advice since the start of Channel Makers and always found it inspiring - both because of the actual tips and roadmaps, but even more so, I think, because your enthusiasm and passion has always shone through. After three years on KZbin I finally feel like my own channel is starting to fly. Thank you for sharing your reaction at the end, ti was heartwarming. You really have touched and changed a lot of peoples lives. Keep it up!

I started crying when I heard your goodbye. Finding this channel was a blessing. Thanks you Nate, from the bottom of my heart. I have to say, Channel Makers is very original, and in almost every interesting video you speak numbers and do experiments. Big props for this channel, and PLEASE, continue making experiments.

100 % Nate. I told myself the same thing a while back; even if my videos only got through to one person I’d still keep making videos. And I do, my channel is small, haven’t had it going super long. I don’t get much in terms of thumbs up or comments but the ones I do get here and there are a nice little surprise and it gives you that added fuel to try and provide the best content that you can 😉

This is really fantastic advice, and we've been doing this ourselves, which has resulted in some really good growth over the last 6 months! I actually received a comment that said, "I'm really surprised!!!! Your recipe was better than most of the ones by those A list cooks on KZbin! Well done!!!", which blew me away! Fingers crossed it's happening! I'm so glad you decided to continue with your own channel! You're one of the few KZbin educators I watch! Keep going, Nate! 💖😻

Nate. First of all, I am super happy for you. I found channel makers around six months ago and I honestly thought it was only you on that channel. You are a huge inspiration and I am so happy that you now get to create this completely on your own terms on your own channel. And that reaction, keep those coming. They make this channel you, not another unrelatable channel. 👍🏻

I feel like this was my therapy session in regards to you tube. You're the you tube growth therapy guy. 😅 (Ed from Film Booth said everyone needs a phrase for what they want to be known for. I'm still thinking of mine.) This was just what I needed as I've been down the last couple weeks in this thing. I need to work on my mental self talk like crazy. But after watching myself in my videos I actually like myself and I laugh every time! Who would've known by the way I talk to myself. (Yes, outloud too 😂) Thanks Nate, I'm going to tune out again as I'm on vacation.

I remember getting my first “why doesn’t this guy have more subscribers” comment. Albeit it was on a short and not a long form video. But man, it felt good! It let me know that I’m doing the right things. And you’re right. The main thing I learned working in marketing is that it’s all about the PEOPLE! Just create value over a long period of time and they’ll come. Great video! 💪🏽
