Here's the mission statement from my channel: "The Rational Workforce is a place dedicated to looking at the news, people, policies, and programs that are shaping today’s world of work in a way that strips away the jargon and pushes back on political correctness." If I can monetize at some point down the road, great. If I can help people to think differently, see an issue from a different angle, or just know they're not alone out there... that's what it's all about. Thank you so much for your guidance and support. You rock.

I want to be able to make videos for people who enjoy watching gaming content and with that, hopefully be able to make enough money for myself to live off. But also enough so I can also help people around the world who are less fortunate than me (such as homeless people ) to be able to live happy lives. (I know it seems far fetched but Iam willing to do what it takes to reach my goals and dreams).

Here you go: 1. We feel like somehow as the content on the internet is increasing, hate and misinformation is also increasing. Of course we can't solve all of that, but we certainly would like to spread more awareness about cultures and how beautiful and funny it can be when cultures interact with each other. We hope to bring a smile on people's faces and at the same time provide them 2 cents worth of information about cultures. So that's why we do inter-cultural comedy on KZbin. 2. Our ultimate goal is to help the under-priviledged in the world and we would like to use KZbin to get an audience to listen to what we have to say. At the beginning yeah sure we are here to make people laugh, but we are also here to make people think. Once KZbin helps us get an audience, we are certain that that particular audience will definitely have some sensitivity towards important topics in this world too. We want to make an impactful change in the world, but there's no change possible without the support of people. Although we are struggling pretty bad on KZbin at the moment, but we are in it for the long game, just that we don't really know where we are going wrong (if we are). Lastly, thanks a lot for your guidance Nate, in India we say - it's always in the eyes and your eyes say that you are a true and genuine human being trying to make a change. God bless you for that! Cheers ❤

Over the last 6 months to a year I’ve struggled with exactly this… on the one hand wanting to get the views, the subs, the recognition. But on the other hand not enjoying the path where I could find these things, I’ve now figured out that what I actually want from KZbin isn’t all that, it’s to build a community that can chat with eachother and share their genuine passion for the art, not the numbers… and this video feels like a sign that I’ve made the right call. Thanks Nate❤️

Ugh Nate you hit me in my feels! Just when I’m ready to give up you remind me a warrior keeps fighting or changes tactics but they never quit. My granddaughter actually was the one that told me to start a KZbin channel (old lady that never even watched KZbin before that). I started ours not knowing what to share eventually we landed on homesteading because wellll that’s what we do on a daily basis. I want KZbin to show our journey, to teach our granddaughters how/why we do what we do. Our hopes is that one day (if they choose) that we will have left them a legacy of a simple but hardworking lifestyle and that KZbin will allow them to learn from our wins and fails and we can build a glass ceiling that they can stand on that they will be able achieve even more. What I want from KZbin, the financial freedom to be able to put all our time into building that legacy for them.

I first started to share my experiences after losing my daughter. It was a survival mechanism. Then, once I started getting comments about how much I was helping other people, that became my motivation. What I hope to get from KZbin eventually is a source of income so that a few years from now I can leave my full-time job yet still make a living helping other people navigate through loss. ❤

I was crying during that quote! I get hurt a lot every time I am told that I had to do more (I am a disabled person, and they don't understand I can't actually do more, but the worst thing is that neither I want to understand and accept my new limits, and it's always insufficient, it's always less than normal. obviously it's not like before, and being in that arena every day, fiercely and unstoppable has no value for them, they want the great performance. And I listen to them, even if it's illogical and I know than they are biased and they can't understand the new obstacles I have to face. More or less, is like you in this moment of vulnerability. It will go well soon, I am sure. And I am a little disappointed (not a critique, I only want more! I was a superfan in all the other adventure!) that there are few videos available, now at the beginning of this channel. Not a youtuber, so my answer isn't valuable for the community, I am in a small niche on other social media. But your advice is always valuable and useful in other contexts, so I am always where Nate is..

Before I started my channel, I actually created a mood board of what "vibes" I want to give with my content and then also wrote a little text what I want to do with the channel and why. My idea is to use my knowledge in order to educate people who would have usually been locked out from that knowledge. Ending the gatekeeping and misinformation in my niche. I always said "I have reached my goal when you no longer need me." Which is probably bad from a business standpoint but from what I want to do by heart - it's the exact goal I have.

I love this Nate, I've been watching your channel (you also on channelMakers) for a while and usually don't comment that quickly, but this resonated strongly with me right now, because I have been facing this questions for a few weeks now. I started my channel in February this year after 4+ years of procrastination and I was over the moon that I just got started. But since the procrastination was about what content I want to shoot, what do I like etc. That comes up again now I started to get some experience with KZbin. The question of why do I want to make KZbin videos? I catch myself sometimes even lying to myself about my reasons to just keep going, but I find with a full time job and the schedule I've set for myself uploading to KZbin, it has become difficult to justify the time spend on my videos and I feel it's sometimes negleticing my excitement for making videos and thus my creative input. In short, I struggle with this question and would love to hear from you if you have any advice or tips that could help clarify the why behind your videos and what you love to do. This has been a question that's unanswered for me for many many years. That being said, still loving the KZbin journey, some answers to the questions currently, is to: - Create a legacy library of all my recipes I love to make on KZbin and share that with others. - Help home cooks become better and more confident in the kitchen. - Make people smile when they watch me or eat their food through my recipes. - Start conversation around food and culture. - Provide for my future endevours and my family via KZbin and other streams of income instead of 1 salary via my employer right now. - Making videos that inspire, awe, entertain people ( not so much cooking channel related, but it's an idea I have for the future). Thank you for being you and creating your own channel, I love watching your videos, they are all valueable in some way or form to me and I believe many others. Regards, Tim

Thank you Nate, I come from a poor background, I am autistic and so college or university was never an option for me. But instead of wasting my time, I decided to teach myself fine art, photography, cinematography and 3d cgi. And now that I have over 20 years experience working in 3d, my mission is to help alleviate others out of poverty and various other difficult situations by teaching my craft using free opensource software. My long term mission is to commission some of the worlds top 3d artists to create 3d master classes that are geared up for student/teacher interaction, this way every school can have access to free and open follow along master classes that will give younger generations future proof tools to help them succeed. At current, no school in the UK can afford to hire senior 3d technical artists, and so it is my mission to create decent education in 3d arts obtainable for all secondary school students. I think KZbin will play a large part in making this possible.

This video right here! I have been thinking a lot about this since I started about 5 years ago to be honest but I wasn't consistent and took a couple years off. I started to be more consistent last year and unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer. So it hit home when you talked about time, what we do with that time and how precious time really is. As a Christian and somewhat of a shy person, youtube is a way for me to connect with others and it is helping me to step out of my comfort zone. I want to do something meaningful and I think youtube can help me do that. While I am a microscopic youtuber right now, my aim is to have a community where we can support and share with one another while leaving negativity at the door (too much negativity in the world as it is). A positive and healthy space where even if people disagree it is done with respect. I enjoy watching your videos, Nate. I watched you on Channel Makers. “I don’t have time to not be doing.” This video resonated with me deeply, but no line more than this. What’s KZbin to me? I’ve always thought of it as a springboard to reach an audience who would be interested in buying my mystery novels. I make videos about how to write mysteries because, well, I knew I could do those well, and I figured the audience of mystery writers would have a large overlap with the audience of mystery readers. There’s always been a tension there, though. Spend time on my books? Or spend time making more videos? I don’t want to grow the channel, just to grow the audience, then fail to provide books for the audience to actually buy. And it gets more complicated. Because over time, as I’ve tried harder and harder to provide quality content for writers, I’ve fallen kind of in love with breaking down, and teaching, mystery know-how. I LIKE being able to say, “here are the 5 types of clues,” or “here’s how you investigate a cold case.” It’s fun! It’s made me a better writer. It’s been kind of awesome. All of this is an extremely long-winded way of saying I don’t know exactly what I hope to get from KZbin. Is it still a tool toward a career, or IS it the career, or is it a small segment of a sprawling megalith of revenue streams that I’m now calling my career? Really appreciate the sincerity in this video. It’s one of my faves.

KZbin is like the Alexandria Library of today, but it is so much more than that. From content creators, we can find information on how to fix things, how to make things, and how to understand concepts. We can see places we would not otherwise know existed, and we can find videos on any subject we can think of. From a tiny place on our planet, someone posts a video about what we want to know. I am so grateful for this aspect of KZbin, and I would like to be a part of this huge library. I am not creating my videos to make money, but I love imagining that maybe someone somewhere will smile watching it, or be inspired, or entertained, or maybe even learn something. I watch you, Nate, because you make me laugh and because your research is very thoughtful. Thank you.

Hi Nate. Thanks for asking these and providing the open opportunity for us to practice answering them in a public forum. My short version: I want to help readers unearth the treasure troves of books from small publishers, and help small publishers find much-needed support from readers. Long version: I've known from the start it that my channel would be an uphill battle (for personal reasons and for wider cultural reasons). It is my deepest held belief that one of the main (only?) things that sets us humans apart from other creatures is our ability to tell stories. I like to believe that imaginative storytelling is perhaps our species's greatest contribution to the universe. My favorite form of storytelling is the written word, specifically fiction. But the way our society is structured, there is some serious gatekeeping to whose stories get published and marketed widely. In the US, huge corporate publishers dominate the publishing landscape. These behemoths flood social media with their not-very-innovative books, and so a curious reader would have no idea of the treasure troves to be found by just digging a bit under the surface to find the small, independent publishers. These smaller publishers are the ones taking the biggest literary risks. They are often non-profits, which removes the need for them to worry about turning a big profit on a best-selling but mediocre book. But many of these small presses are struggling! There is a huge movement to "shop local" and that often extends to readers shopping from their local bookstore. But that "shop local" movement has somehow missed small publishers...people go to their local bookstore, but then pick up the biggest bestseller from a big name celebrity author. I want to be the channel who digs under the surface. I want to help readers who are sick of seeing the same (rather boring) books all over the place. I want to be a place where readers come to find something new and exciting. I want to help authors who are writing incredible, ground-breaking work that is ignored by large publishers. And most importantly, I want to give back to these small publishers who have given me so, SO much joy. The trick is...how can I make money doing that? LOL! Not exactly MAKE money, but at least get a little something back for my time to help support my young family. Thanks, Nate, for your candor and creativity. All the best, Sarah

*And to answer your questions What do I want KZbin to do for me? - I eventually want it to make some money but not necessarily money that I would quit my job for but enough to fund my gaming hobby itself. So for example buying the games I play, buying cool tech that I love to use on my workspace. What do I want to do with KZbin? - Share my passion and make interesting laid back videos that hopefully people will enjoy. I've noticed there's always so much polarizing talk in gaming and I want to be one of the voices that can maybe discuss the bright side of gaming and some of the amazing storytelling we have seen in video games

Oh boy, well got a lot to say on this. I actually am a teacher outside of KZbin and it’s always been on my mind that I have to lead by example, and not just in my teaching life but in my everyday life. When I started KZbin and even now I did want to be motivational. I think it may sound strange since I talk about Ecuador and travel but I do it in less of a business sense and more of a being real sense. A lot of people in my niche get sold things, but I’m just saying things as they are and giving as much information as I can to help others. I want to use KZbin to be the means where I can help make a difference. And once again, I don’t just want to make a difference in terms of travel, but also in people’s lives in general. I’m not perfect, no one is, but we can always be better because we always have that choice.

The thing we want to achieve is to make creative content value some money with some sort of originality, right now on KZbin there are a lot of videos that are stripped from movies and online streaming, KZbin in the early age was originally platform that values creativity more than right now, you can see RocketJump channel doing crazy cinematic videos, Smosh doing hilarious comedy sketches and super time consuming and budget spending animation channels like kurzgesagt in a nutshell and so on. Right now, the culture of hardwork creativity is kind of dying off on KZbin in replace for fast upload and rip off of other original content. Big channels can exist due to their past growth, but small channels may have a lot more difficulties when struggling with how other creators treat creative content. As the biggest video sharing platform in the world, we hope to find a middle ground for hardwork creativity, instead of low effort uploads for the sake of earning some money.

This is not only an answering questions thing but kind of a rant that may or may not make sense but it’s what I think. Also I'm gonna write this before I watch the video fully and possibly edit it more after I watch it. Q: "What do you want KZbin to do for you" A: To give me a platform where I can not only escape reality, but help others do the same. Q: "What do you want to do with KZbin" A: I want to bring back the simple days of 2014-2015 KZbin where gaming was RED HOT with content from EVERYONE or that’s what it seemed like to me. And I could also sit here and say the obvious stuff, like yeah I want to get that 1,000 subscriber mark and start making this into a full time job. But saying is, is different than doing it. I would also like to add basically a second answer for this question, just being able to have a small community where people come and watch my stuff regularly, would be the coolest thing to ever happen. It's really yet to happen at least on the side of the fourth wall being broken if that makes any sense. But yeah, if I could pull that off at SOME point, that would be very cool. And I could elaborate on these answers, or I could sit here and explain how I’ve been doing this for over 3 years, I’ve had more downs than ups as of late and it somewhat contributes to why I haven’t been uploading as much, burn out, lack of will to make videos because I know more than likely no matter what, till I get a solid plan, my KZbin channel isn’t going anywhere. Or just simply seeing a video I worked so hard on, just for it to get close to no views also tends to kill the passion Slightly. I have zero help, no one telling me what to do, just me winging the crap out of everything till something sticks, 211 subscribers over a 3 year span and 240 videos where I’ve busted my butt making these videos, they’re not the best, far from it but at the time, that’s what felt right. I love this platform, I love making videos even if I haven’t uploaded a lot recently, and come September, when Starfield drops. I’m putting all my chips on the table and fully sending into making videos more regularly again, will things be different? Only time will tell.

I started my channel 10 years ago, based on the fact that throughout one particular video game, I kept finding weird glitches and such. It seemed like it was never going to end with how much was being found. Video game glitches had always fascinated me; I thought it was cool when I saw what they could do to a favorite game of mine, whether I grew up with it from childhood or just genuinely liked it. So, I started my journey at 13 years old and kept it running for about a couple years. I didn't quite have a solid structure when making videos, I would just kind of make them and upload them immediately after they were done, rather than scheduling them, advertising, etc. I did eventually develop burnout, and decided to slowly stop making videos altogether. I had over time learned more about video editing. I had some opportunities to do stuff that I had no clue what it was I was doing, but KZbin tutorials helped me in the long run. I liked doing stuff that was a little more advanced, and I was wondering how I could apply that knowledge to what I did with my channel in the past. Not so much to, you know, make AAA movies or whatever, but rather to provide some more entertainment value out of just showing people various glitches you can do in a game. Something where if comic relief is necessary, I want it to be done right. (Or just something that looks pretty cool.) Now after a long time, in late 2021 I wanted to start up my channel once again, this time applying what I learned previously into the videos I wanted to make. I've since had 2 types of videos I publish, one where I show glitches in a game and how to do them step by step, and the other about a topic that is interesting and generally revolves around gaming. For instance, there's one where I talked to a developer of a game from the mid 2000's to ask him if one of the character's voice lines (the voice 'lines' being gibberish) were sampled from a Monty Python movie. It's stuff like that as well that interests me, and I hoped that others could find the same amount of intrigue. I've also learned a lot from you and other KZbinrs who want to help other aspiring KZbinrs out, showing what can be done to provide quality content, and how to keep people coming back. The knowledge you provide has genuinely been helpful, as I feel now there's a lot more structure in what I do as opposed to 10 years ago. Granted that comes at the expense of a slower upload schedule, but it's mostly been consistent nonetheless. I want to sincerely thank you for your guidance through this. I'm still learning, but I feel like I have a little more of an understanding how to take every step with the upload process.

I want to get to a point where I can make videos like this one. I feel like the odds are stacked heavily against people who make content like this; just talking to camera in a real, authentic way. Virtually everyone doing it seems to have brought a crowd from somewhere else, as you have many fans from Channel Makers (which was much more heavily edited). It feels like the barrier of entry into KZbin nowadays is to make big flashy videos with tons of edits and graphics. I want to have more human conversations and entertain people and connect with people. But I'm not sure that's possible on this platform, anymore? Feeling a bit dejected after a few months on here.

Thank you for this video; it can be so powerful to step back and actually evaluate what you’re doing and why. My KZbin is geared toward bloggers who use AI to create content. I started it because AI technology fascinates and excites me - particularly all the doors it opens up for small creators who otherwise wouldn’t have the means to scale. But beyond that is a deep-seated desire to help shape the future of AI content and its creators - there is a right way to use it to enhance and communicate your message, but there are also many wrong ways to use it. And so that’s what I want to achieve with KZbin: I want to use it as a platform to create a community of fellow content creators and help them navigate the AI revolution as it unfolds.

I want KZbin to provide sustainable positive stand-alone income for the non-profit it serves. We hadn't planned on the direct engagement we're getting with our audience (we're picking up adopters and volunteers) so we'll adapt to include this as an additional value we can gain from the distribution of our content via KZbin. in exchange for the distribution and royalties we want to bring to KZbin a high quality series of episodes featuring true animal rescue stories which our audience may enjoy for their entertainment value. Our episodes will also serve to inform them about the reality of the crisis many animal shelters face and all the unsung heroes involved in each rescue. We hope we can make 12 of these a year, plus occasional lower cost features and updates. We are a real non-profit rescue, originating all content we post. Big difference with many players in this space. But first we have to get past the bottlenecks in our production workflow. It's really hard to make make these episodes and that's our main challenge right now. I will use the experience I am gaining building this channel to build a channel of my own, or to help other non-profits build successful channels.

I’d like KZbin to become a vehicle where I don’t have to work for unethical companies anymore. What I want to do for KZbin (well the communities of my niches) is to show people you don’t need expensive vehicles or major modifications to see our beautiful country. Most overland channels buy a new vehicle, then spend another 30-60k on building it to go places you can go with a stock rig. People don’t realize that tho. I’m going to soon be using two 20 year old stock vehicles instead of my 2021 to better prove this.

Good questions Nate. For my own part it is Partly because I wanted to show skilled excavator drivers etc in a country where the seasons change from arctic cold to tropical summer over a year. But even back in 2008 I wanted to capture the sound of different vehicles. So that people don't think they all sound like a generic sound they often put in movies from a 19th century steam roller on an electric forklift for example 😓 And I'm not asking for much. Can I get some appreciation sometimes, it's fun, but I will never be known outside the circle that appreciates my videos. because I won't have the physical and mental strength to maintain an intensive channel I'd rather have 100 committed subscribers than 100,000 silent ones Cheers and take care

Thank you Nate, hope everything is ok, seemed quite emotional at times! I love this style of video, no over the top editing, just straight information and helpful insights. Loving the direction of this new channel! Thanks for such thought provoking questions, here's my answers: 1 - What do you want KZbin to do for you? I want KZbin to find people with similar interests who want to know more about the games and companies I care about. I want to people to find a new favourite channel and experience an emotional connection with my content. I want people to leave each video feeling like they learned something new, or at least enjoyed their time watching! I want KZbin to help me learn and grow as a creator and a person, by challenging myself to make better content, and learn how to present, edit and share my ideas in an engaging way. I would also love to branch out in the future on a separate channel to create some content that can appeal to a wider audience outside of just games. Improving my communication and presentation skills has already helped massively in my day job. In the long term, I want KZbin to provide me with a full time income, so I can quit my day job and free up time for other creative endeavours. Some of those would include making games, writing books, sharing my knowledge and helping other creators, and whatever else excites me at that point in time! 2 - What do you want to do with KZbin? I want to upload as much interesting and enjoyable (to make, and watch!) content as I can I want to turn my channel into a go-to resource for retro gaming enthusiasts, with playlists of interesting videos for people to discover and enjoy I want to use KZbin as a way of improving myself and my content I DONT want to create content because of requests from others, be it reviews, promotions or sponsorships. I had to do that in the past and it was draining, spending so much time playing and reviewing something I ended up not liking. It felt like a waste of time for me, and everyone watching. So hopefully I can try and say no to more requests like that and focus on what feels right! I think I answered those correctly?
