@@jasonrequa3278 , agreed. I will make small talk only if it feels natural to do so. If you constantly force it, the customer will notice. I've had quite a few people who just wanted their food and not a conversation. I also dont see how it improves tips when you dont see them anyway. Unless they are tipping more than $4-5, DD is taking it and just giving you the guaranteed minimum. I just work during the bonus time and consider those my tips.

Yea it’s not like it does anything for tips they’re tipping in the app before you even get there lol It really doesn’t make a difference in you making more money whatsoever. I just go in smile and be energetic and say hey! How are you!? Have a good day! Enjoy! commenting on where’re they ordered from is honestly just weird. If a dasher did that to me I’d be like um yea great can you just give me my food and leave? Lol

And that's a misconception in this video I feel. I am not recommending a full conversation, this all happens within 15 seconds or so. You're basically just throwing in one or two additional comments that help you stand out. "Oh hey I really love the sushi place you ordered from, great choice!"

Sometimes I get the ping at the restaurant I'm parked at. Great opportunity to do something else for a few minutes (after you've marked I've arrived) because if you just got it chances are they just got it.

In addition to that, Doordash periodically re-runs background checks. A speeding ticket may increase your chances of deactivation from the platform.

power tip….if you want to keep your acceptance rate high dont decline…..let the timer run out and “miss” the order…..as long as you accept 1 in 3 and miss the others your rating will not decline…..my acceptance rate is like 97% or something crazy like that

tip: I bought a hot bag from Sams Club ($7.99), Very large, keeps food nice and hot, but the steam that come off things like fries tends to soggy bags, that is until I tried something new... my local grocery sells these cheap ($1.99) hot/cold plastic bag like things that made out of space blanket like material, a bit thicker, put the food into that with the top open and that into the good hot bag... the steam rises out and makes the larger bag wet, but the food bag does not get nearly as soggy.

How does interact with your customer at the delivery gives you more tips? They already included tips when they placed the order.

Hi Pei Pei, customers can add an additional tip after the delivery by contacting DoorDash Support. This is quite rare I would imagine however. The customer service at the delivery point really works for platforms like UberEATS, Amazon Flex and Postmates among others.

Talking to customers is a good way , looked nice in thought but it don’t work in reality once they get the order they may or may not say thanks before they shame the door in ur face

Which is why that interaction takes just seconds, sometimes I don't even elaborate past, "Hello...delivery for Irene" because I can tell they're in a rush. But if their body language is more relaxed or they seem open to a short 10 second conversation I'll throw in just one simple comment.

I completely agree don’t accept bad offers. You do have to non complete certain offers that are not going to be worth the wait time at a restaurant. One other trick if you consistently work the same area is to learn to decline orders from certain places. The ca are consistently late by 20 or 30 minutes and or a bad staff you just don’t want to deal with that are always getting the orders wrong

Your last point is interesting, I'm trying to think of situations like that as I know I've started to become familiar with certain restaurants. Some I know the parking is just awful or the restaurant is normally extremely busy.

Hi Randy, yes here's the exact excerpt: "DoorDash also notes that an extremely low Acceptance Rate may be an indicator of fraud, or an effort to game incentive programs offered through the DoorDash platform. As set forth below, such fraud may result in deactivation of your account." As long as you're not looking to game incentive programs or committing some sort of fraud you should be fine.

Hi Silviu the only way for a customer to tip after the delivery has been made is to message DoordDash support referencing the delivery and request a tip be added.

Quite question Mike When excepting batch orders will the screen keep them in order for easy delivery. I just started Postmates yesterday and while on my way to deliver the food other orders were coming in didn’t know how to deal with that. They do keep them in the correct order for pickup and delivery on Doordash. Just be wary of which restaurants they are. Certain ones will always delay you and that sucks when you’ve got someone else’s hot food waiting in the car already.

Independent contractor is your legal classification when it comes to taxes. You're not an employee therefore Doordash does not pay payroll taxes for you. You also don't get a W2 from Doordash, you will get an 1099.

Nope not true. Any business that uses independent contractors can and should have quality of service standards and conduct expectations. If you don’t meet those they just don’t contact you anymore. What they generally can’t do is require to to accept every offer for delivery. That’s why acceptance rate usually doesn’t matter for deactivating

The Govt says $0.545 / mile is loss due to car maintenance, gas, insurance... so if you are offered $10 for 20 miles and accept it... you worked for free.

I've worked on almost all platforms available in the DFW area. Doordash was the least lucrative of them all. I could easily make $100 per evening with UE or GH but DD is painful to use and always takes away from tips. Their pay model is gross as they take away money if your customer tips well. The more they tip the less you get from the actual delivery.

I've heard some bad things about DD yes. I've signed up for GH but haven't completed the onboarding yet as it's in person and I don't want to leave the office just for this onboarding. When I did more UberEATS (UE) it was pretty profitable.
