Sanjyot, this is Bengal's iconic vegetable chop/ cutlet dating back to early nineteenth century- also used to be sold along with egg roll outside Writer's building in Kolkata during the British Raj and Kolkata's "coffee houses". This was later sold in Eastern Railways and then rest of Indian railways.
