Thank you, Dr. Chung, for explaining this so well. I never realized how important my pelvic floor muscles were until I started practicing strength exercises. My stomach is flatter, my posture has improved, and all my bottom end issues are getting better! All in 3 month's time. Kegels have been better for my posture and core than anything else I have tried. It has really taught me how all the areas in the body work together, even the ones we get embarrassed talking about! It's also great to know that it's not going to make bottom end issues worse.

Yes, exercise can help your hemorrhoids a lot. However, I would strongly be cautious about doing heavy squats with hemorrhoids. Heavy squats are actually cause bleeding hemorrhoids because, when you squat with heavy weights, you are putting a lot of stress on your bottom end. Believe me, I have had this happen to me several times with heavy weights. Body builders and power lifters are notorious for having bleeding hemorrhoids. Anyway, exercise also helps out with digestion as well👍

My god is this true. I've had hemorrhoids for over 5 years now. They would occasionally bleed a bit but nothing that I'd considered worrisome. Recently I joined the gym after idk, maybe 6 years, and got into some good ol' ass to grass squatting. Wasn't loafing much, but at the bottom of the movement I felt my hemorrhoids prolapse. Didn't pay too much attention though I was wary of not going as deep for the rest of the session. Next morning I started bleeding out when I went to the toilet. Each time I'd go take a dump, I'd started bleeding heavily. Today, 6 days after my first hemorrhage, with little sign of improvement despite medical treatment, I had a procedure done, so yes, DON'T SQUAT ASS TO GRASS WITH HEMORRHOIDS.
@meganbarnett24422 жыл бұрын
@@fmazerolol did the surgery help? And how did you feel after surgery?
@fmazerolol2 жыл бұрын
@@meganbarnett2442 it was photocoagulation laser therapy, not really a surgery. I don't know if it helped, I kept bleeding a few days after that (bled a total of 8 days straight), but the main reason I think it failed was that they still prolapse. Thing is my hemorrhoids are grade III, and it's a procedure designed for grades I and II

My doctor said my muscles are too strong. I had hemorrhoid artery ligation in July and it has made things so much worse for me. I have to strain to get anything out, and the pressure and pain after a bowel movement is much worse. It looks somewhat better because things stay in but it has really not been helpful at all. Now I'm looking at having a hemorrhoidectomy but the crs said my muscles are too tight, so I went to another one who said she would inject botox, but I think she's having a baby, because they were going to call me to schedule the surgery and they never did, and she was very pregnant when I saw her.

when I can get a muscle pump and divert blood to other areas my hemmprhoids are relieved. fiber and all the mainstream hemorrhoid advice has done nothing but make matters far worse for me. so I am not going to eat a single gram of fiber again. this seems to be more of a vascular issue and less of a bowel moment issue and ots tremendously frustrating how all the info on the internet refers to fiber etc. even though it's a vascular issue and not a pooping issue. I wish I could get better advice but so far I've found hot water, hanging upside down, napping, push ups and other resistance training that will pump my muscles and also pelvic floor contractions are the best things. also have moved to a full on carnivore diet which has done much more then eating vegetables and fiber which just made them worse for me. I have np diagnoses tho so I could have cancer or something but I've been dealing woth this nightmare now for 2 to 3 straight years without more then a week of relief at a time. so I imagine if it was cancer I'd be dead by now.

What pelvic floor exercises do you recommend doing that will be relaxing the anal sphincter muscle to relax and not push down and strain? The problem is trying to learn the difference of Pushing down and relaxing the sphincter because pushing down strains the anal sphincter which the rectum blood vessels form into hemorrhoids. You have to push down to relax the sphincter muscle but then you're staining the sphincter and creating swollen blood vessels that are forming into hemorrhoids.

Hi doctor. Newer subscriber here who has been suffering with hemorrhoids for going on three weeks. A question: I’m having a very bad bout of constipation that isn’t passing. For someone with hemorrhoids (not sure if external or prolapsed internal). Is it safe to take oral dulcolax to get quicker results to pass this large amount of stool that’s stuck with no sign of passing without significant effort (which of course I want to avoid)? Or should dulcolax be avoided, even at the smallest dose? My concern is that colace and miralax will take too long during this acute episode and I’m trying to avoid further complications such as an impacted stool. ER doc I saw prescribed Colace 2x/day and Miralax 4x/day. But I’m seeing that Miralax can be potentially dangerous with a bowel obstruction. Thanks for all you do on this channel. It’s been very enlightening.
