🎸 Jimi Hendrix Guitar Course [Lesson 2] How To Play Like Jimi Hendrix
Welcome to our Jimi Hendrix player study. We're studying everything that defines Hendrix as a guitar player. This includes his exceptional lead skills, rhythmic prowess, and chord mastery. We'll explore how he seamlessly combined all of these elements to create something truly groundbreaking. From full on fuzz-fuelled rock, to Jimi's trademark chords-with-lead style, Dan will take you through all the technique and theory so you'll be able to create your own music in Hendrix's legendary style.
We'll take you through all the fundamental aspects of Jimi Hendrix's instantly recognisable sound. In Unit 1 we cover a riff based song and the famous 'Hendrix Chord' (technically known as an E7#9) - once you hear it you'll know it! In Units 2 and 3 we really dive into Hendrix's amazing chords plus lead style, using two songs to cover major and minor chords and scales, and the CAGED system to explain it all! In Unit 4 we explore more of Hendrix's straight lead playing. Finally, we give you a chance to try it yourself with lots of guidance from Dan!

Im slowly but steady working in the BB KING course, the Fingers Workout and now this Jimmy Hendrix one, I stoped playing guitar for over 20 years the stupidest thing I ever done in my life! But now I’m back and I really want to retake the lost years, only for me to own it! BIG THANKS TO YOU ACADEMY GUITAR! for giving as access to your amazing courses to those who we don’t have the privilege to pay lessons.you are amazing!

Hey man, I've never gotten a better lesson than this, just fantastic! After learning the stuff you tought in these first two lessons, I went and bought your course! I have been playing guitar for some time, but I've always just been playing around, not learning songs or watching any videos, because they were all just so boring, and never told me WHY the artists were playing these notes or chords, and how I could go about improvising with their kind of stuff. However, you do, and you do so in a very fun and engaging matter. Thanks a lot, I look forward to completing this, and definitely more, of your courses :D

Hiya - loving it! Been playing for 40+ years and every now and then you need a refresh , learn something new, get out of ruts whatever. This is doing it for me. I really like learning the style as opposed to learning particular songs as I can take this and riff around to my heat's content. Univibe and wah are getting some serious abuse:) Thank you.

Don't worry, you'll have a good 3 days at the end of this unit to consolidate the whole piece! Plus, absolutely know that you can take it at your own pace, don't feel pressured to hit the next lesson if you're not quite ready. 😊😊😊🤘🙏

what i really need a proper understanding is "how to write music like hendrix" i love this and your other series on how to play like certain artists but what i struggle with then is how to create my own songs. im not really talking about understanding all the theory behind it but the concepts of, if you pick this key, these chords etc etc. knowing what chords to follow licks is what fails me

I like that this lesson builds on the content from lesson 2. Is this going to be the case for all 25 lessons? Or perhaps the first 5 since they appear to be grouped on the site? Great stuff. Still working on the chord shape from day one, but this will be easy enough to add once I get that transition down.

Hi Oliver! Yes so we have 5 units, which all progressively get a bit trickier and cover different aspects of his playing. The first 5 lessons are about this track. Then we start to look at the chord / lick approach with a cleaner sound. Hope that makes sense! Glad you're enjoying the lessons so far!! 🎸🎸

Firstly- thanks. Great lesson. You’ve got a talent for making complicated things understandable. Question(s):- Especially high up the neck is it acceptable technique to use 2 fingers for bends? Also, for some of these bends where I have fretboard to play with I find it easier to bend the string down not up- your thoughts on that? As a new player to electric lead I’m not sure how much of my struggle with bending a whole step is technique vs my set up (I have an Epiphone Les Paul, and I know this stuff was played on a Strat- the strings feel v tight).
@yga
@yga 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! of course it is, a lot of the rules with guitar are flexible for what feels most comfortable and works for you. The same goes for bending strings, I often bend the G string downwards. A whole tone bend can be tough at first so will take sometimes for your fingers to adjust so take it easy when attempting these bends, starting off slow! If they still feel tight it could be worth having a look at changing the gauge of string? If you have any other questions let me know! :) - Cam

For lick 3 wouldn't it be better (for a beginner) to start it 4th string, 7th fret? That bend at the 2nd fret is way too much for me, even after 1 year of playing. Thanks.

Hi Dukey! I'm not sure if you got my response on the live chat, so I'll pop it here! Basically the course is the same (same video content) - But you will be able to download the videos and, of course, there will be no ads. You also get a really in depth eBook guide (including tab / fretboard diagrams and write up) plus loads of bonus features (behind the scenes, free 1-2-1 lesson with a YGA tutor / access to our private group and more.) The other thing to note is that we will be adding more and more features for customers, and will instantly update anybody's account who previously ought courses! Let me know if you have anymore questions 😊😊😊😊
