I completely understand your mom dilemmas and yearning for a different childhood. I heard a therapist say that parenting is learning how to re-parent yourself and learning how to be the parent that you needed to show up for you, but never did. There is nothing wrong with your parents and it’s OK that they did things wrong. It doesn’t make you a bad person for talking about it when you get older too. ❤

It’s a natural phenomenon I call “biological repulsion”. It’s like how trees wrap their seeds in tasty fruit - Purposefully so that the seed will be at some point swallowed by an animal. Then travel thru the digestive tract and be tightly packed,by that animals bowels, into a warm stinky pile of feces that will be 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽hopefully dropped far away from the parent tree- so that the “child” tree has room for its own root system. Post pubescent human offspring are the poop covered seeds. Angry at the tree for letting them get eaten by an animal and for allowing them to go thru darkness and twists & turns thru acid & awfulness (intestinal nastiness) and ultimately blaming the tree for them ending up in a shit situation. Not comprehend the importance of the whole process. Now grow stinky seeds! Grow! And when your kids act too ripe, start to get kinda squishy & begin to attract wild animals- KNOW it’s time. You’re gonna let go- they’re gonna go thru the same process and so it shall go for all human existence. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥹🥹🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

The older I get the more I understand some of my Moms behaviour. They had a whole life going on before we showed up demanding attention! My sister passed away on Boxing Day years ago. She was the first born….brain tumour at 14yrs old. I wish I knew the woman that existed before such trauma. I’m the only girl in the middle of four brothers. Took her 7 yrs to get pregnant again and then it was one after the other! My Father wanted a big family. My Mother agreed to have the children but did not want to raise them. So she didn’t. Don’t really have any childhood memories with her. They are all with the nanny they hired (such a beautiful soul) and my two Aunts that always stepped up. So I was lucky really! But it really messed me up being the only girl and not having my Mom to talk to as things changed and I became a grown woman. I became so independent so young. Resented her as a teen. After college I realized by using my energy to try and understand her behaviour and figure her out I was only hurting myself. I offered her a friendship and I’m thankful I did. Especially now that she is gone. She didn’t quite know how to be a Mother but she was my best friend for almost 20 yrs. I often wonder if my sister hadn’t passed away how would things have been different growing up. Will never know! But I do know finding your peace with an absent Mother is so important. We can’t read people’s minds…but we can control ours. Sorry for the rambling! Trying to make sense. ❤️

Gotta say, Santino is a way better comedian on the fly. His ability to improvise in the moment is fantastic. I haven’t seen his newest special, only clips from his Instagram, and I wasn’t that in to it. THIS side of Santino is hilarious though.

At least yours isn't 65 and still smoking meth and doing heroin. Be grateful for what you have if there is any good in them.

I don't really relate to Tom's mom so much, but I couldn't relate with Christina's mom more. Listening to this Pomcast over the years has really helped me in my self development and understanding of my mom. She is homeless, a drug addict, and I haven't seen her since I was 11. It's just a thing now rather than being the biggest part of my life like it always was. Love you Christina.

My maternal bearer was just as, if not worse, and it took me decades to even understand how bad my abuse was. Comedians sharing their trauma may be rote by now, but at least it explains my own sense of humor.

Well good for you for turning your back on the lady that gave birth to you! I'm sure she couldn't used a lil help on the way out that life. Let's hope that your kids don't do the same to you when you're down. Karma is a bitch but congrats 👏👏

Hearing them both talk about how they feel they missed out on having normal parents hit me right in the feels 😭😭Christy's right, though. For sure makes ya funny 😁😁 Also, I'd argue that since the noise came from Tim's throat, as opposed to being "emitted from the mouth"(since his mouth never opened) it wasn't a burp, or a belch.

On a serious note, mommies, I have a narcissistic mom and I feel the Charo struggle. You want to do nice things for your mom but you can’t unsee their manipulative ways. Love the Mommies.
