Thanks Alicia I love how you say not to react, it really works! My boy can be quite spooky at times and by not reacting and carrying on it has really helped us both overcome a lot of those moments. 😊

Hi Alicia, Rebecca here 🙂Thank you for this clarification, it shows me that I am on the right track, just missing that "perfect, all time connected" bit yet. Thank you

You can do it!

Good advice, but when the spooking becomes quite violent, theres not much you can do but try to stay on. My mare would violently throw herself sideways or bolt every time she didn't like something. It became so dangerous I stopped riding her. I'm selling her and am buying something that is a lot quieter to deal with. Highly experienced riders can ride through it but for the average amateur its not possible.

I used to find putting them straight into shoulderin & keep going straight as if nothing there was the best way to deal with it. But yes has to be connected first. 😊

It's great that you've recognized the importance of connection before asking for more advanced movements like shoulder-in. Keep up the great work!

I wish I had known this before my nasty fall a few weeks ago 😅 lil one got overly excited by several polo horses and went a lil too fast for my level of riding

Sorry to hear that! I hope you learned something here and apply them on your next ride x
