I listen when ever I am driving and eating my dinner. And the best time when I am in bed. My grandfather turned me on to the old classics. My first time I was 5 years old. We were playing bunko in our kitchen. PA said hey ty you want to listen to something interesting. I said sure PA. SO he turned on his Panasonic clock radio. He turned on CBS Radio mysteries. I was 5 it was 1969 and I am 61 years old and own about 2300 cd's and tapes of all the classics. Thank you PA.

Thanls for your posting. I'm a fan of YTJD, and as many do, I like Bob Bailey but not exclusively. What I really like about your presentation is, that you post photos of the character actors, and CBS had a fair share in it's stable, I'm a huge fan of OTR's Gunsmoke and Broadway is My Beat, and Rocky Jordan. Many of these actors found work on each. I've often tried to guess who's who by their voice, but seeing their faces is an added bonus. Many Thanks for this added incentive to follow your airings.

Out of all the rewrites I've heard on this story, sam spade The tears of night, pat novak, the diamond quartet, anfd I think I heard another one too but am not sure. Anyway this one has to be the best one as far as an altered storyline. it wasn't until Johnny showed up to Costigan's (? I may have gotten the name wrong there) and Feely opened the door. In the sam spade version (probably the original) Feely says "screw screw, all kinds'a punks around these days, mumble mumble" by far the most slang laced version. This one seems more toned down for a wider audience than the sam spade one. And the pat novak one the most wooden but that could be down to Jack Webb's style of acting
