Totally agree with you on the water!!! Major difference!!!. I was praying and asked the Lord why my hair is hard and dry during the week? The Lord showed me it was the water. I went to the kitchen and pour some Poland springs in my spray bottle and WOW! What a difference. Where's the frizz? Gone ! Hardness? Gone! I to,d my BFF about it and she tried it. Same great results. Now she uses distilled water. So now I use filtered water when spritzing and I have rinsed my hair with it. I don't have a shower filter so I can't do the who,e nine yards but just using to style and refresh has made a world of difference . Thanks for sharing . So many ppl don't know about how water can damage or help your hair.

I believe sometimes we are our own worst critics. Don't be so hard you on yourself just because people are posting negativity in the comments...makes you wonder what their hair looks like...it's so easy these days to tear people down, I wish those negative people would try to create a great high quality channel like yours. They would find out how hard it is and stop being so disrespectful. Keep doing what you're doing, I think your hair is beautiful.Just keep giving it what it's telling you it needs, you'll be fine😉😉😉 have a great day!!!

No natural hair regrets. I just cut and combed out butt length, 20 plus year dreads. I've started my loose natural journey. Yours is one of the natural hair channels I've subscribed to for guidance. I'm sorry you're down. You'll be back on track soon enough. Don't let the Nay Sayers get to you. Like someone said earlier. They can go start their own channel, see how that works for them.

I will stay on this Journey with you as we all have hair journeys. Your hair can be "poppin" one minute and literally "dropping" the next. It can happen to anyone. It's hair...it will grow back with a lot of TLC. I appreciate you for being brave, transparent and sharing your journey with all of us! You don't have to! Stronger hair is yet to come!! Stay tuned.....

Thanks for sharing your regrets. Great post! My biggest regret was getting frustrated 8 months after my first big chop because my hair texture was inconsistent. I ended up relaxing my hair. I immediately regretted it. I’ve since thrown all of the creamy crack out of my house! Two years later, I love my natural hair. It’s a complex relationship indeed... but it’s true love and no more creamy crack for me!!

This has been so helpful. My biggest regret was not going natural sooner. Chemotherapy did that for me and I’ve never looked back. I found the most amazing stylist in Lakewood, WA at Mahogany Soul Natural Hair Salon. They literally trained my post cancer hair with DevaCurl products and committing to comb twist for the first year of grow out. Three years of natural hair and being cancer free.

Very helpful. Thanks. My greatest error was using over the counter hair products. Basically all of them except very few severely damaged my extremely fine, curly hair - Again...and Again.. .and Again. It took a minute to realize this fact. My saving grace is DIY hair products. I control what I now put in my hair. The results have been amazing. I didn't even learn my hair texture until I went DIY.🤣

Using too many products with protein. My hair got hard. It was constantly breaking and shedding. Although it grew really fast, it was falling out at the same past. Thank God I changed my products and am using only moisturizing products now to fix my hair. It looks great. It is no longer breaking or shedding and I am retaining length.

I agree with the bleach or color being my biggest regrets. I used one stylist for 4 years and that was starting around age 50. I started really graying so I went with this blonde you see in the thumbnail (I've never had color before the age of 50!). My hair is really long and thick, it's just pinned up, it was my 54th birthday. My hair has gone through a major change over the last couple of months, I just got diagnosed with CCCA this month, Sept 2018. Not devastating but it is BAD. No idea why, it just went very aggressively, thinning and spreading in my crown. So, it is what it is. I thankfully can manage my own hair, just go to stylist for coloring but now that I'm on this CCCA journey and trying to regrow hopefully, some of my hair, I will not color (some rinse cause my gray is mostly around my edges). I have no idea if this had anything to do with the sudden CCCA but I did have thinning prior to this in a spot about the size of a quarter for decades, couldn't see scalp, just thinner than the rest. It took off and spread noticeably in June. Now my maintenance is BIG on scalp care and cleaning!
@JustCC1016 жыл бұрын
I keep it pretty simple with my hair, mostly bc my strands are fine and I believe would be easily damaged with color, heat, over manipulation, etc. My biggest regrets have been: (1) Allowing someone to braid my hair too tight, which literally took out the "cowlick" part of my edges. After months the hair started growing back (as there was nothing but skin,) but it's now years later and they are still not the same. (2) Getting lazy while my hair was in a protective style (2 strand twist extensions, self installed) and therefore leaving them in too long. There was no much new growth that it was difficult to detangle. Even with all the time and effort I took to detangle, there was some breakage. 😕 You are a stylist, right? I think you'd be better off keeping everyone out of your hair and doing your own. I know it can be time consuming with all your other responsibilities, but well worth it. I'm no professional, but I keep others out of my hair, hence the too tight braider. I will go somewhere to get my ends trimmed, though. And I have two daughters with plenty of hair too. 😌

One of the best things you can do for hard water is a vinegar clarifying treatment. Take 1 part vinegar to three parts water and pour that over your hair. Squeeze out the excess and cover it with a processing cap. Leave in for 30-60 minutes. Then shampoo and condition as usual. I'm in NYC and we don't have hard water, but I like to clarify to balance my scalp bacteria, and it also helps to re-acidify and moisturize hair. I do this weekly with excellent results. On chemical or heat damaged hair you might need to reduce the amount of vinegar if 1/4 part is too strong :-)

One of my biggest regrets is getting a curly hair cut. (rezo cut) I know some naturals swear by it (deva cuts etc)but mines was jacked up. I had to get my hair blown out and recut because it was so uneven. I am so tired of starting over with my hair. I now am going to start going to a new stylist because the one I have been going to for about 8 yrs does not have a clue about my hair even though he Claims to. He does not listen. I did it want to change because like you said it’s not good having too many people in your hair but he does not and is not willing to learn what I need him to learn about MY HAIR so time to go.Anyway your hair looks good to me but you know what it’s doing off of KZbin better than me so would love to hear what’s going on with it. I deep condition every week. A few times in the last three years I used a rinse out and I could tell the difference right away. I live pretty rural and there are not many curly hair stylist. I did find one 45 minutes away and I was estatic! She was DevaCurl certified. So I entrusted her two times with cutting my hair, I am so sorry that I did. The second time I was in tears driving home. She had finger coiled so many big pieces of my hair, I thought I had bantu knots and my hair was frizzing because she kept messing with my hair. Needless to say she got kicked to the curb. Don't pay attention to the haters, we all make mistakes, we're human aren't we? And it will grow back! Thank you for your honesty. Just got my hair cut short about a month ago, still not sure how I feel about it and the stylist. Still looking for that stylist who makes you look great when you leave the salon.
