He's from Senegal and sings in his mother tongue. It's a music about justice, prejudice, freedom... as good as a good song could be. It doesn't matter language, accent... Is its rythm, vibe, an harmony that counts !

The message about racism is absolutely spot on. A child is not born with any kind of prejudice or awareness. It's inflicted into us by society. This is what played on the radio in my teenage years and I woke up this morning with this song in my head so now I'm here. Thanks for posting it!

Allways did i think, this is a love song , but i´m wrong. It´s a song of love, for all the people, for the world, and telling about the color of skin or a innocense of a child when they´re born in this world. Yeeaaahhhh , i know that i live in a sad and mad world. Ohhh my , that we find a happyness and peace in this cruel world ... please, we need of peace.

Correct me if i'm wrong but both french verse's by Youssou N'Dour translates to the following: Verse 1: Boul ma sene, boul ma guiss madi re nga fokni mane Don't see me from a distance, don't look at my smile Khamouma li neka thi sama souf ak thi guinaw And think that I don't know what's under and behind me Beugouma kouma khol oaldine yaw li neka si yaw i don't want you to look at me and think Mo ne si man, li ne si mane moye dilene diapale What's in you is in me, what's in me is to help them Verse 2: J'assume les raisons qui nous poussent de changer tout, I assume the reasons that push us to change J'aimerais qu'on oublie leur couleur pour qu'ils esperent I would like that they forget about their color, Beaucoup de sentiments de race qui font qu'ils desesperent so that they can have hope Je veux les portes grandements ouvertes, Too many views on race that make them desperate I like the doors wide open Des amis pour parler de leur peine, de leur joie So that friends can talk about their pain and their joy Pour qu'ils leur filent des infos qui ne divisent pas Changer Then we can give them information, that will bring us all together
